The club frag tank build

Well we have decided to build our own acrylic tank for the frag swap. We are going to have a very shallow tank of around 6" of water depth.
The tank will be around 8' long by around 3' wide. It will be lit by several 250 watt MH's loaned to us from Scott @ Exotic Tropicals.
We are going to build a stand for it and a large sump with a dart for circulation (again loaned to us from Scott)

This will be a way for most everybody selling frags to put them all together (with pvc pipe dividers to keep everybodys frags seperated by row)

I'll get Eric D to do a sketchup model maybe or something but I just wanted to announce it.

I am proud of how well this club and board has worked together lately, we have some really cool stuff planned.

I will announce frag swap details as we get things finalized. I can tell you it is going to happen on October 20th, and we will have several visitors from California, as well as vendors from Denver and Colorado Springs. You won't want to miss it, did I mention the food will be catered? Free food is always a +.

Amen.

You guys are doing a great job. And Great Scott!

Thanks Chris
I will help eney way you want I dont work in the day so I can be a runer if you need.

Sweet! Where do we submit requests for frags? I need one each of everything in Russ' tank and one each of everything in Chris' tank. That should do me just fine. I'll be broke for a month, but what the hey. :)

I'm growing out frags right now for the sale, tiny ones should be good sized by then. As soon as i get rid of some stuff I'm babysitting in the 10 i'll frag some more of the nicer ones. Don't worry we have vendors that will be doing the same, there will be a ton of frags at this event, I'm thinking a couple hundred to choose from.
Chris.

Thank's Christina, I'm having fun with it all.

For sure Lin, we need wood for the stand, do you have access to any 4x4's and 2x4's and 2x6's???
Used is ok, we can paint the whole thing black when its done.
Maybe the event will be big enough to do a second large frag system next year!

You do need to hurry up with the 150, We can't wait to see it Russ.
Lin, when the tank is built I'll get with you about the wood.

I have a bunch of pressure treated 2x4s available if needed. They were on my old deck but are in good shape for framing. I also have two seio 820s sitting around.

great. I don't know when we'll be building everything it could be a month or so but I'll post a thread when we are ready and what we need to get it all done. Thank's for being willing to help out guys.

I can scare up wood and other materials if need be as well. I've also got nail guns, compressor, and all manner of tools lounging around I can loan out for the build.

Cool, we could do a stand build on a Saturday sometime then.

I wonder what we're going to do about the small horse trough. Does anyone have one they could donate or sell to the club? I was thinking the smaller one that is roughly 5 feet long x 3 feet wide?

Chris
