The Continuing Adventures of Tim (Supermantis)

you have way too much time on your hands! I hate the little buggers due to one attacking me! How was I to know he was in the tank!

This post...

This post is great. I look forward hearing more about Tim the mighty wuss. I would switch to a Titanium heater though.

we need more man! im thinking maybe you should start a daily blog about the adventures of tim.im sure it would get alot of hits!

Maybe Tim needs a girlfriend. That way he can strut his manly stuff in front of her by killing everything that moves.

It may also calm him down enough (let's hope not too much) so the tank doesn't need to be drained, ;) .

Great story. An absolute pleasure to read (THANKS!!!).

Tim has heard your requests...

He has since ordered me to clean his dwelling before taking more shots (he's become a recluse again and is only willing to come out if he looks his best).

Had to change the filter in his home early on in May due to a mechanical failure... the tank looks horrible at the moment as it continues to adjust.

He still tries daily to write responses back to each and every one of you, but cannot hold his water long enough to clak-it-out on a keyboard and paper doesn't last long in his tank. It's one vicious cycle of a problem. In the interrim he's ordered me (again with the orders) to respond and to let his fans know that he adores you all and will grace these pages again with a story soonish... like maybe Tuesday (since I'm off and he can't take pictures of himself - digi-cam hates water).

His roommate is still a nervous little wrasse who attmepts suicide (poorly and ineffectively) at least once a week by jumping into the light. It's sad really.

Tim has molted again. He grows stronger each time and bigger too of course. He has taken to bashing the bottom-post of a neat surface-skimming adapter to his new aquaclear filter.

He's also officially moved out of his original 'apartment' and dug-out some new digs underneath the remaining rockwork.

He seems genuinely arrogant... er.. excitedly looking forward to a new picture shoot (right after I sand-vac and scrape the glass to full transparency again). ;)

Enjoy!

because if this thread i have started doing research on mantis shrimp and someday i will get my own tim......... keep it going,,,

You're fooling yourself.

While you may pay money to 'purchase' a mantis, it will soon thereafter become evident that you are the servant not the owner.

*grin*

Though Tim and I spar at times as equals, I am always watchful of his next move...

^bump^

Also, GIVE US MORE PLEASE DENSITY MAN, YOU ARE MY RELIEF AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(as you can see i can only surf this site and not post unless im at my house!)

Tim demanded that his roomie be taken away.

I complied.

Apparently that was the whole reason he wasn't coming out for pictures any more... he didn't like having the roommate. /shrug

I have a new pic (at home) and plan on coaxing him out for a photo-shoot again tonight.

His roommate was a beautiful C. rubbinsomethingorother (fairy wrasse with paddle-fins). He was originally meant for the main reef as a mate for what appeared to be a female C. rubbinsomethingorother. Turns out the female was in transition from female-to-male (and I didn't even get an invite to the coming-out/change party). The "female" beat the hell out of the super-male (he has very striking colors). So the super-male ended up in Tim's tank.

That's about the same time that Tim stopped coming out with his usual threats and demands.

Being as dense as I am, I interpretted that to mean he was happy. /shrug

This morning I found a note on the desk and knew it was from Tim (the hand-writing and grammar were astonishingly bad). He had demanded the wrasse be removed or he was going to do something to one of the cats.

I let him know that while he might in fact be able to cause one of the cats harm, it would only be after he had been swallowed.

He pouted some.

Then he progressed to sulking.

I'm a big softie at heart, as you all know from my too in frequent tank-draining sessions. Heck I haven't even let a heater explode in his tank for almost 6 mos.

I moved the wrasse.

I figured the wrasse had had ample food and time to toughen up during his time with Tim. I even gave him a little wife-beater shirt to wear in the big tank; hoping it would give him some psychological edge versus the psuedo-male already in the tank...

I'll let you know what happens tonight... or what I come home to tonight...
