Any help on getting rid of xenia... I've tried cutting it back but now it is in small colonies all over my tank and I am unable to cut them all. Full on tank takeover. :uzi:
Xenia isn't that bad. You just have to know what you are in for if you decide to place it in your tank![]()
I had a mated file fish that loved the stuff...
oh it is terrible lol it grows faster than my grass out front.

I'm glad there are posts like this one. I love to save them and send them to others when they say... "I just love how their little hands move and how pretty their color is."
It's a trap, walk away from this coral as fast as you can.
As far as getting rid of them, if there are only a few stalks of xenia, I would buy some reef safe epoxy, cut the stalks carefully and cover the leftover base with epoxy. This is the only way you can get rid of them, short of removing the rock from the tank.
Good luck!
:lmao: Oh so true about being a trap :hammer:
Manny there is a guy on the LPS forum that needs your assistance on a goni.
And then there's me. I failed to keep xenia alive the first 2 times. Still no idea how I did that.
But I do love some weed corals.
Only the tiny blue glove polyps I'm not willing to put in my tank. Weed coral that spreads by spores? Count me out.
Is xenia susceptible to being stung by say a torch or something?
