Thats right! As of 12:30 today (04/29/11) i am a proud owner of a 180g tank.
the timing couldn't have been better! My naso needed a bigger home. After some research (provoked by the suggestion of an RC member) i found that some of the behaviors my naso tang has been displaying indicated that its time for a larger home. In comes the chance of a life time! im not going to say where i found this but it cost me $140, and the best part (at least that how i see it) is that its not drilled meaning no RR overflows tanking up my precious real estate or messing with tank flow!
the change will happen sometime during the second week of may.
I plan on drilling the tank and using the coast to coast style overflow which i like for its efficiency and low profile.
I also have to build or acquire a stand for this bad boy, i would love iron simply because it allows for so much freedom of space unlike wood stands.
For the most part all the equipment used on my current tank will be used on the 180, save for the upgrade in skimmer: a Bubble Magus NAC9 :lol2:
Things that will need improving are:
Flow, this tank is 2 feet longer so ill need to compensate for this.
Sump, this will probably be changed because the one i have now is too cumbersome to work with its 18" tall 12" wide. :thumbdown
Lighting, i have a 48" fixture that will certainly need to be upgraded. not sure if ill do LEDs or stick to MH... we shall see.
at the moment that is all. i'm sure ill find more as the date approaches. Stay tuned. :bounce3:
