Here is my 120 gal tank at about 8 months old. All the rock and foam are completely covered in coraline algea.

Hi,
I want to do a rock/foam wall in my new to me used 125 gal.
I was told that i could silicone the the fresh cut flatside coral (from Macro rocks) to the glass and foam around it.
I this ok to do or will it not work.

i wouldnt either. i foamed mine onto the eggcrate and used a bit of silicone to hold them there if i needed too

I need help on my project. I tried to look for a pond foam but found nothing in my area (Phils.) so i opted to start my project using a regular Great Stuff foam.

I finished foaming the rocks and the crate. next will be the application of resin unto the foam. My question is, do i also have to apply resin at the back part of the eggcrate? and even the foam on deep holes at the back??

No, the point of the epoxy and sand is to protect the foam from the UV of your lights. You should cover the top and any side edges that are exposed though.

thanks. yes i Get that. however, my tank is placed as a divider between our living room and the toilet, and the back part of my tank is not painted so light from the toilet gets in from the back. will it still affect the foam at the back?

I bought a semi-flexible Resin. the one that they use for cars. if anybody knows, what are the application methods and how long will be the curing time for this type of Resin? thanks.

setting up a new tank thought this was cool always hated looking at the over flow box..used the black pond foam from lowes attached my rocks ..gave up some cool live rock ..for theelks horn ..then epoxie and covered it in sand ..i think it came out ok for the first one i ever made..will look better once it stars getting covered in coraline the trick is going to be getting it in the tank with the euro bracing..the restof the tank will be traditional live rock

the only thing i can add to making these is the instruction on the can say not to disturb it while it is expanding ..where some good rubber gloves and play in it as it strts to expand...it looks much more like rock way better than big bubbles..

I doubt ambient room light would be an issue but why take the chance? I would put a coat on just for good measure and it will look better from the back as well.

Now I wish I would have covered my overflows as well, that looks great and would make placing corals back there a lot easier!

I wouldn't..latex and saltwater. Also warns against below grade use..might have some water issues with the cured product.

The stuff I used was Touch N' Foam Landscape, its fish safe, UV Stable, and I got it for $4.39 a can.

Hopefully one of these retailers are near you.
