The Georgia Aquarium (VERY Photo Intense)

Oh, wow... I'm in love. Absolute the best time I have ever spent on this board, was spent looking at these pics...

:inlove:

That's amazing, but I'm not surprised. That place is impressive, and a magnet for anyone with interest in aquatic life.

i'm from North Carolina and just visited the Georgia Aquarium while i was in Atlanta for a conference and it was AMAZING! i had no idea it was there until i found out we will be walking by it 4 times a day on the way to and from the Philips Arena and the GWCC! so on the first day i decided we must go so me and 10 others went at $24 a ticket but once inside it was worth it no doubt! i have pics if needed, including of the WHALE SHARKS, GOLIATH GROUPERS, BALUGA WHALES!!!

i was going to post lots of pics but after getting them ready i remembered they had to be under 55k or something rediculously small... oh well :( unless everyone really wants to see

Wow... I'm not getting email notification of responses. I missed several.

AudioAddiction, I'd personally love to see more. I'd really love the chance to see how the place has matured over the 13 months since I've been there.

Oh! And the reef display! They knew it was going to take time to mature. I'd love to see progress if anyone has more recent shots.

hi folks, i just walked out of the Georgia Aquarium a couple hours ago, and i have to say that the pictures in this thread are amazing. they really convey the size well and are incredibly detailed. looking at this thread makes me feel like the one guy they gave a re entry stamp to. thank you so much for posting these pics, and i can only hope a few of the frames i shot (10 rolls through my pentax zxm) come out close to as good. i shot some B&W also. i will see how they come out and if i can, i will start a thread with em. thanks for makin a thread that i can now say really makes you feel like youre there.

hey i have a question
why did they catch the whale sharks? were they injured?
are they trying to breed them? i just dont get why they took them from the ocean.

we're going in november. i cant wait

They were acquired from a country in Asia. They were to be food otherwise.

Bruce Carlson who desinged the coral reef came and gave a lecture at our club meeting. The scale of things for that tank is amazing.
