EEEk. I wish there were an easy way for us commoners to find that stuff out _before_ the sale! Of course he had you over a barrel with the outside temps being what they are.

Cory checked online and found the part that was charged $157 for on the bill for $9.99. He googled the part name listed on the invoice and came up with hits of what looked exactly like the item he showed us that was bad so a $147 profit on the part alone not including the service call is a pretty good mark up IMO!!

Motor start capacitor?

If so, I had to replace the one on my main return pump about a month ago, picked it up at TN electric motor downtown for like $7.
 
I love my T5's. I have not ran over 79 degrees since the heat started. But the Air Conditioning is cooling the heck out of the house too. Keeping it around 72 is working for now. The electric bill is pretty high though. Last year it was about 200, this year it hit 260 already.
