The Iwagumi Reef

Classy tank! I haven't read through your entire post so forgive me if this has already been discussed but your finished rock work looks like it is more than just rock laid out on the sand bed. Did you combine epoxy, foam, glue or other to make the formations? It turned out wonderfully.

Thanks

Thanks, the initial aquascaping (seen in the photos you've quoted) was made only with any supports of epoxy on the rocks base. Later I used epoxy and glue to make this more recent rock formation:

Well I have to give you a hand, you are very good with the epoxy and glue. I will have to try to do the same in my tank and see if it turns out 1/2 as nice as yours. Thanks!!!

An update with some new pics would be like an early Xmas-present. This is one of my favorite tank on RC /Samuel

I understand why you haven't posted a FTS, I'm the same way...

+1 for an update. :)

Thanks for your interest friends!
Still a bit to update .... I hope not much.

Hi, do you mind if I ask how your Diademichtys Lineatus are doing?

I kept the dyademichtys for 9 months, he grew suddenly and get fat but all of a sudden began to lose weight and died ... I have not found similar references, but in my case he started losing weight when removing more than seventy trochus reared in Iwagumi that I had...in 15-20 days he died. If it was a fluke or he obtained food of these...I don´t know.

Is time to see the first photos of Iwagumi Reef current:

Over a year ago to remove the system ZEOvit, during this time I have been looking for a more smooth and easy to maintain ... I finally decided to use "siporax", a synthetic fiberglass to cover the shortage of live rock in my tank, besides this I replaced my Bubble King skimmer for something much more modest and appropriate rather low bioload of my aquarium, Tunze 9410 DOC skimmer. The idea is to give more prominence to the biology and less to technology ... I start to see positive results but there is still much room for improvement and we will see if this is the right way or not.
