Try not to extend beyond the time of exposure to air (exposure time in this job had to be 15-20 min) but to avoid problems in corals do this: I have to hand a jug with water from the aquarium and a large syringe (60 ml) to spray them every so often (could also serve a sprayer) .... I believe that this method allows exposures longer without problem.

Nothing illegal about him posting your pictures, which he obv found on the internet...He isn't using them to profit or promote anything; therefore it fall under fair usage.

If you don't want people re posting your awesome photography than maybe you should copyright them.

They are copyrighted. And yes, unless I license him to post it, it is intellectual property theft. His posting it with me being a seller of my prints, and doing so without my permission, infringes on my ability to exploit my own work by selling prints, and therefore, it DOES NOT fall under fair use.

I'm sorry. Only I used as examples of natural landscapes that I love and that have inspired me.
I did not know they had copyright (not seen copyright logo) and I don´t have to attribute authorship.
Apologies, if you want that I erase it them you just have to tell me.

You need to assume all original creative works have copyright. Because they absolutely do, automatically. There is also a "Maupin" watermark in the lower left. Indicating ownership.

Very nice tank. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I think it's sad that you've never seen someone stand up for their intellectual property rights. If you had spent 5 days traveling, risked life and limb free climbing on uplifted spur and groove with no hospital within a day's travel, in order to get that shot, you might feel a little different.

And please keep the photo. It's too low a resolution to be much use besides anything but this thread, but please ask permission from people in the future. The photo is watermarked. It probably came from my reefs.com article (to which it was licensed and I was compensated, and has my name attached to it).

I'm not interested in being credited as the source, I'm interested in being asked and allowed the option to give or refuse license to use my intellectual property on my terms and at my discretion.

Technically it is theft to repost an entire image. Period.

Not only that, this photo is not linked. It was stolen and re-uploaded.

But in this the poster is getting a notice from me saying that I reserve all rights to the image. The image is watermarked.

I am also giving explicit permission for it to stay, with the caveat that folks should ask before posting watermarked/protected images, or any image for that matter.

One of the reasons I have fewer than 20 posts between 2002 (when I got un-banned) and today is the gratuitous mean-spiritedness. There are more polite or positive ways to get the same message across. Hell, you might wind up selling a print to the guy.

The photographs are from various websites about underwater photography, I assure you they are not taken from the same site.
In any case, if one of them is yours, I apologize and thank you let me keep it ... next time try to be more careful and ask permission to the appropriate earlier.
