The Latz have landed!!

I just received a pair of c/b Latz from Chris (owner of Aqualife Unlimited) in Hawaii. When Copps informed me about the Latz being captive bred by Karen in Hawaii, I immediately contacted Chris and we established a dialogue over the next 2 weeks. He was extremely professional and courteous with me. I've been looking for c/b Latz for a long time and almost pulled the trigger a few months ago when I saw the misbarred ones coming in. I told myself to be patient and look for fully barred, captive raised fish. Let's just say my journey has finally ended! I just took this pic while they were in the specimen container. Sorry for the poor quality.

great! I was just reading about the latz breeding success this morning on marinebreeder... Awesome you got the full barred CB. Hopefully these CB we get a steady population in captivity..

Do you have any plans for breeding?

Thanks guys! I am sooo looking forward to them growing up and developing the wide band pattern. I wonder how long it will take?

An interesting situation is developing now. I really wanted both fish to pair up and take residence in the rose. Mission accomplished! However, I have two small roses and guess what? Yep, you guessed it, each Latz is in its own anemone. Not a good situation if I want them to bond with each other.

Beautiful fish. Man, I would love a pair of these. Couple of questions for the people in the know on here...

1. Are the parents WC or CB?
2. Experts - what do you think about these little guys? Obviously, they are full barred and that is cool but what do you think of the rest? E.g. is the shape good? Are they going to grow up to look just like the full-barred wild caught fish that I would love to have?

good questions.
1. the parents are wild caught
2. I have seen them all at Karen's and they look awesome.

Hopefully Karen can chime in and answer all your questions better. Hopefully your hesitation won't last long. They are beautiful.

Yeap, parents are wild caught... I've seen a lot of latz in my day (and own a WC pair grown out from juvies) and I could absolutely not tell the difference between these and wild caught juveniles... and hopefully my pics show that... if not let me know!

Cool. Thanks for the replies. Having never seen one in person and not even seeing too many pictures on the internet of these guys as juvies, it is hard to know if these are good looking ones or not. To be honest, I think all the clowns with this similar shape look...what's a nice word...awkward...as youngsters.:lolspin: It is so much easier with Percs and Occs.

Great questions!! I am really hoping for the blue lips to come in. Any idea how long it takes them to intensify? Is there a chance that they may never get the blue lips?

My 2" CB doesn't have blue lips and my 3" CB has the blue lips starting.

Karen's clowns look just awesome! Both in color and shape.
