The Mantis Next Door

Mantis Sociopath.
Just wondering, does anyone have their mantis settup right next to another aquarium?

I am currently using a 90gal stand I finished for my 50gal. fresh water, and there is enough room to toss a 20gal on one end.

I was wondering, if I put a Mantis in the 20, if he'd be looking into the neighboring FW setup and randomly smack at the glass whenever a cory cat or Kribensis came close to the glass...
Its this sort of setup not recomended? Should his tank be ALL plexi glass?

they can certainly see very well outside their tank, so your concern may be well justified. Then again, the mantis may soon learn its an exercise in futility.

Perhaps some opaque divider between the two tanks would be prudent.

This picture is from about a month ago when I was acclimating my O.s. As you can see, the mantis tank is only a few inches away from my 65 gallon fowlr. I know for a fact he can see very well into the tank; I have read and heard from Roy C. that they have better/more sophisticated eyes than humans, so he can probably see very well out of the tank and into the one next to it. I always see mine looking into the tank next to it, his eyes following the fishes. Mine has ever attacked the glass; he just watches. I think he realizes that hitting the glass does nothing and that he cannot get to the fish, he can only watch them.

I had a mantis in my sump which was just a couple inches to the left of my 75g. He would look over into the display tank but never just start striking. They have great depth perception, they know that if they strike they arent going to actually be hitting something that is inches away.
