The Official ESL Thread - Directive for Continuous Improvement

Let me first say I love my reef link. It gives me the control of my lights I always wanted and it was super easy to set up. It is fun to cause a thunderstorm from 3 states away and ask the wife if it worked.

I have one suggestion for your next software update. Make it so you can reset the clock via the mobile app. One of mine are off and I tried reprogramming the light but it didn't work. Especially annoying with the time changes.

thanks for the help Alex,
radion is all set and working great in its acclimate process,so now im just playing with things on ecosmart, which now leads me to another question, can you somehow set the lightning storm mode to have all the lights c ompletly off then strike, i dont like the lights turning on before the strike at night time

Dozer,

I will forward your suggestion to our engineering team.

I have recently set up my ReefLink and Radion G2's. I am getting to know the software the more I play with ESL but one thing I cannot figure out is the Radions will begin to wind down (become very blue) and about 2 hours before lights out they seem to peak (switch to a midday color/ much more white all the sudden) and then wind down again. What do I have off that creates this spike?

I am running the "Radiant Color" Template. It was suggested to me to turn off the buttons to the Radions themselves, and after turning them off it still has the spike in white color around 8 pm? The graph on ESL doesn't show that this should happen so I'm not sure if it is something I have set up incorrectly or if it is a template problem?

When looking at the graph do you have the button for all colors to be shown, on . Also when looking at your graph make sure it's how you want it then hit program all button, maybe your program is just pending and not really in use, idk just trying to help though, I myself am still figureing things out with eco smart live. I know the " eco techs" are supper busy but I'm sure they'll get back here with an answer.
Good luck

Thanks Dozer, I thought they were all programmed but I did the Program All button just incase. I do have the individual colors on and none of them show a spike in intensity? The Schedule seems like it should work fine from what I see on my computer screen?

I understand that ESL vortech control is in closed beta now. Is there a registration area for those of us interested in participating?

Alex from Ecotech posted in another thread that vortech control should be available in the iPhone app in the "next few days." Apparently, they're waiting for Apple to approve the release. No word on public release or beta availability for ESL vortech control though.

I'm sure the ESL public release for our Vortech pumps will be in a few weeks or sooner.

Last Monday I purchased my ReefLink, which is up and running. Just waiting for Ecotech Marine to filp on the switch to control our Vortech pumps.

On a side note, I don't have the Radions but the AI Vega's and since AI and Ecotech have merged, I'm crossing my fingers that someday I could control my Vega's with my ReefLink. I have the Director unit which is ok, but I think the ReefLink control head and ESL is a better all around platform.

Thanks,
Randy

Just upgraded my EcoSmart Live app on the iPhone. The upgrade to the firmware on the pumps went flawlessly and the interface is very well thought out and easy to use. I'm impressed with the overall system - Reeflink, Radions, & Vortech - it all works together now!

State of VorTech Integration in EcoSmart Live

State of VorTech Integration in EcoSmart Live

Yesterday we officially released VorTech integration in EcoSmart Live, exclusively through our iPhone app. Now you have the ability to upgrade, import, control and schedule your VorTech pumps, all from your iOS device. Upgrading your VorTechs is as easy as following a step-by-step guide. We also added support to manage your aquariums (similar to the Device Manager in the EcoSmart Live website). Simply go to the "My Aquariums" list and tap the gear icon of the desired aquarium to view details and manage devices in the aquarium.

To start using the new VorTech features simply update your app and follow the on-screen prompts to import your VorTechs. If you don't have our VorTech pumps, just tap "No Thanks" on the second page of the intro screen and you will not be prompted again. You can always go back to the VorTech intro wizard by tapping "What's New" from the main menu of the app.

Regarding VorTech control in the EcoSmart Live website, we are currently working hard on making that reality. Please stay tuned to this thread for updates. We are also working on adding VorTech support to our Android app.

Not sure if this has been covered before but I would like to see an option to set up custom schedule for certain days of the week as opposed to a general schedule for the week.
For example having the lights on Saturday and Sunday at an earlier time to enjoy the tank while im at home.

Thanks

I have not gotten home from work to play around with the update yet but one thing I thought of... Is there a "Storm Mode" for the VorTechs to go into when the Radions begin their Thunderstorm mode?
