actually you might try some plastic seal. brush on hardens pretty quick. you can get it at Menards/Lowes/Home Depot for $6.00

ask for the rubber that you paint onto plier handles

FYI I am gonna solder my connections and shrink tube them once I get the time and money for a new set of blavk wires (about 30 ft of them).
