Good morning, I need a reliable return pump to replace my panworld 50pxx. It's a great pump but to noisy for my bedroom. It can either be external or internal. Hopefully not a hot pump if in sump. Thanks
In general, DC pumps are quieter than AC pumps. Depending on your budget, it can range from inexpensive Jebao pumps all the way to Abyzz pump. Something inbetween would be a Vectra pump or Reef Octopus.
My Vectra M1 runs externally. I also used a Pan World 50PXX, but mine was very quiet for my living room. The M1 runs cool and silent. There where a few issues with the first ones released but Ecotech has it figured out and produces an awesome pump
I've chosen the reef octopus varios s4. Anyone know if it's a safe external pump? As in the casing is strong enough plastic not to crack with the hard plumbing?

It's so annoying that such informations never make it on relavent sites like BRS ad an example.
Am so suprised and have seen multiple examples of a product that every one is complaining about specifics in it, yet have high rating on BRS or matine depot..
From the atk, to vectra l1 to the reef octopus...really sad.
FWIW, I've been using 2 (for redundancy) Reef Octopus RODC 3500 pumps for over 4 years with zero issues. This model preceded the varios4, but it appears like controllers are the only change. Based on that, I'd buy again, however I do run them submerged.

Because those places have control over what is posted and they care.
Amazon also has control but they have so many products that they have no time to bother and they also know they are legally watched like a hawk, especially when it's Fire and Kindle stuff which is one of the few items they really care about a lot.
