the real envy oranges?

hello!!! i think i hit the mother load......(hope) ive searched but need opinions are these envy oranges? they cant get much oranger and they are people eaters.i have them next to a red pe and there is a huge difference. thanks

to be absolutely sure, you'd have to give them a month to normalize under the same light side by side.

i'm sure if you took a frag of RPE's out from 10k AB's they would look orange side by side compared to ones under 15k XM's.

also, envey oranges are completely orange, they dont have stripes or that dark area around the green slit mouth as yours do. so yours would actually be OPE's if they indeed stay orange.

they are both under 10k hamiltons in the pic but i understand what your saying about leaving them awhile. im by no means a zoa expert or even close but i havent seen any ope's anywhere ive been. thats why i snatched them up so quick. anyways thanks for the info. john

Ditto on what surf said. The dark center tells you right away they arent envy orange.

They are a true RPE, but when kept under 10k or lower lighting they turn orangish in color. Under 14k-20k they realy start to getred and purple.

keep us posted.. hope you can take maybe a week to week shots or every 2 weeks would be helpful to us trying to figure out this OPE Vs. RPE dilemma..

when the original OPE photos are under completely differnt lighting (ie- unknown lighting) then youre never really going to know for sure. to be "purebred" they'd have to come from the exact colony anywho.

Hey guys what about what i have. They don't have the dark center and it's pure orange all the way except for the neon mouth.

I was looking at zoaid.com's envy oranges and they also have stripes too.

It's been sitting in my tank for quite sometime now and it's been orange eversince i got it. It's under 250W 15K XM / Actinics / middle tank.

lol zoafrags, you have no business here on RC. you, reeferich2, and the rest of your buddies are whats wrong with this hobby. buy from one place, turn around chop it up, and sell for 10x what you paid for them.

you may be able to get frags from ultimate frags, and those stores in the area, but i think its pretty safe to say most of the top zoa collectors wont give you their top stuff, knowing the only reason you want it is to frag up and sell.

you also stole fligers pic of his tubs blue zoas, inverted the pic, cropped in a seperate frag them sold the pic as your own. i would be HIGHLY cautious when looking at any of your pics, as you have a history of using your photoshoping skills to make things look unnatural.
