The Reef Central Corner Club Thread

Hi All, My tank is 14 years old. Its an Ocean brand. Been running well for a long time. I notice the silicone starting to peal on the edges. How long do these tanks usually last?

That's not likely the structural silicone you are seeing peeling. It's probably just the bead that they put there to keep people from digging into the strucural silicone while cleaning the glass.

YEs thats true. Would that typically affect the integrity of the seal?

hi I am so glad I found this thread I just got a 92 gallon need tips on lighting thx

If you have a canopy that y'all enough you can hang whatever you want inside it. If topless these TV/Monitor mounts modified will hold smaller single fixtures (XR15s, XR30s, Hydra 26-32-52-64, ReefLED, Noopshyc, etc..), or I'm sure you could space them appropriately to hand a larger +/- 3ft T5 or LED panel style fixture. With the shape and depth of the 92 I have found 3 smaller fixture to work better than 1 large. Although a 250-400 watt MH with a nice reflector would work well also, like the Reef Brite 15" MH Led hybrid could work well if hung high enough for full coverage, additional led strips could be added to hit the corners if need be.

*trying to add a pic of mine but keeps kicking me off the page? Will add in next post.

If I were using LED solely I would consider Kessil but with the LED/T5 combo I would likely use the Orphek Bars, ReefBrite Bars, or just less expensive LED fixtures since the T5 can supply your photosynthetic needs the LED would be more shimmer and coral "œpop". The money saved between the Kessils could go to other equipment or CORAL!!!! Waterflow was the biggest hurdle to dial in. I use two MP40 about halfway front to back on either side and 2/3 the way up, works pretty well for me. Of course all of this is just my $.02

I thank you for the info I just did some measuring no way all that is going to fit
I could not even get a Hamilton single halide 4 t5 fixture in there its 24 x 13 1/2
I am stumped I could possibly fit 3 t5s around the edges with a super small reflector in the middle

I've been searching this thread and could use a little guidance. 54 corner been running 1 year now. Love my corner tank but have found out the pains of it. I plan to drill the tank for a sump , only running HOB at the moment. Planning on building a custom stand. If anyone has any plans or info .... guidance or anything ! I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey guys, first saltwater tank. I have a 54 gallon corner tank and looking for suggestions on powerhead placement and modes.

Tank has about 40 lbs of live rock and the following livestock:
1 purple firefish
1 royal gramma
1 black snow clown
2 Banggai cardinals

Running 2 vortech mp10s and looking for thoughts on placement and modes.

Thanks!

Been running a 24" Reef Breeders LED light with two Icecap Gyre 1000's on each side panel on my Aqueon 54 gallon corner tank. Also have a custom sump with Reef Octopus skimmer and refugium. Pretty happy with the set up. :)

Nice idea for a thread. I have a corner 92g bow... It's a frigg'n pain in the but!!!!

I'd like to see ideas on how people did the lighting as well as aquascaping.

I have to run for xmass..lol... but below is a thread from my local forms/site that has some of my build info. Not updated, I will update with new photos.

Is there another thread for these tanks, seems a bit slow here recently. Looking to jump back into the hobby with another corner tank. Anyone have some of the larger corner bow tanks?
