I was wondering if anyone else has tried putting there powerheads with magnetic holders against the upper plastic corners in the front.

I found that by placing them there it made it easier when I needed to scrape the glass.

no, i havent but i havent got the room i think, is the magnet that strong, do you mean the top area where the rim of the tank is

well done ya all, and the list is getting bigger as well plus 3 RC team members are corner owners, keep up the good work

YAY!!!! This thread has really exploded! I joined in the end of January and we were only on page 30 with 500+posts. Look how far it came! Now maybe we could have a little more reason to have our own "sticky" or forum!

Jesse - I know it's only been a week (seems like forever when your layed off!) but have you done anything with the avatar yet? Just curious

I've found a few small sayings but that's about it. I've been pretty busy at work so haven't had much time. I'll try to put a couple up tonight.

Yes the top corners.

I have Koralia # 3's in the top corners. The magnets hold just fine.

People with Tunze or Koralia powerheads might want to give it a try.

Congrats on the first split everyone

Does anyone know if you can mount Icecap MH and T5 ballasts upside down without cooling concerns??

I remember back in the day.. (LOL) you could not mount audio amp's upsidedown due to cooling issues.

Any input would be great.

Are you talking about hanging the Tunze from the plastic corner brace? Does the powerhead hang deep enough in the water to avoid the whirlpool effect? I might give this a try.

Awesome Jesse! I'm totally looking forward to seeing what you come up with! I'm going to clean my Koralias tonight, and i'll try it. I try to keep the water level just about to spill over the little piece of plastic that's on those corners (the lower thin part), so i'm hoping i won't be sucking air into them. I'm adding a modded K-4 soon, and with 3000gph, i'd be a little scared that this would majorly suck some air in if i mounted it there. On another note, I will be making a trip to Syracuse's ABC Reefs to look for an 8 Line Wrasse, or larger Fairy Wrasse and hopefully pick up a K-4 and Maxi Jet mod kit, and then off to Buffalo to A Reef Creation in search of some killer Acans and Acros!!! I'm so excited...And what a way to blow my tax return!!!!

My two 54 corners

My two 54 corners

Well, they are starting to come along, and I thought I woulod share my progress. I have two 54 corners that a friend had made canopies for to match the stands. The tanks are in either corner of my family room.

Here is the predator tank:

So far it has 1 snowflake eel, 1 sebae clown (that I had to take all the rock out of the reef tank to get - it was scaring all the little peaceful fish), 1 rabbitfish and my old flower anemone, a sebae anemone and some shrooms and leather.

The reef tank has two green chromis, two firefish, and I just added two true percs and a big carpet anemone.

Here is the reef tank in progress:

I have an orbit PC over the predator tank:

The reef tank has a 250 watt MH setup:

and a sump below:

I've been taking my time, kinda. For the pred tank I still want a sharpnose puffer and a niger trigger.
For the reef tank I am thinking about three more chromis, and a pair of PJ cardinals.

Once that ios all stable, I will start the SPS.

Thank you very much for the idea of hanging the pumps from the top. My tank is a corner pentagon and has eurobracing around the entire tank. I have 2 Koralia 4's in the front corners directed at the back sides behind the rocks.

It worked perfectly. I love now being able to clean the entire front panels.

Thanks again,

No problem at all, I am glad it worked out for you.
