Holy crap that is going to be sweet cant imagine the weight of it full ;)

Well I know on my 600gal glass tank (96x48x30) I am at almost 6500lbs (3.25 tons)... My tank is about 1100lbs, 550lbs of baserock, 500gal @ 8.33lbs (rock displacement), Stand about 400lbs...

At first I though it was going to be like one of those old contests where you see how many can fit in a phone booth or VW bug but instead into a tank!

Looks good. What skimmer do you use on the 380?

Bono Vox on the 380 I was using a PM Bullet 2 originally then purchased an ASM G4X.

its looks like you may need a few more people to move the tank. I dont think you had enough.

Very nice job. Enjoy it

Thanks NYVP. I've been keeping an eye on your thread, nice tank.

They might have thought the tank came with a mermaid. Gorgeous tank..

You found my secret on how to get a whole bunch of guys to help you carry a heavy tank. Thanks.

Very nice! How high is your stand? How thick is your acrylic sump?
What are those small hole in the tank like a hooker for?

The stand is 43" tall but will end up at 43.75" tall after adding the 3/4" plywood. The holes you see on the stand are small brackets that I had them weld on so that I could hang the PVC pipes or whatever I needed to. I have eight of them throughout the stand and they each hold over 200 lbs, not that I'm planning on hanging that much weight, but that's how much they will hold.

Good luck and want some more pictures of the tank when you get done with moving the tank and sump

Hopefully my Slab will be up to the challenge ;) .

I should get a prize then for getting 12 people ;). I'm glad I had so many friends come over, there is nothing like BRUTE FORCE we lifted those 850 lbs fairly easily.

Finally after a few years it's finally running.

Had a local member (Pete Rafferty) cover the steel stand with oak. He did an excellent job and made all the doors removable. He did an excellent job well worth the wait.

I need to clean the tank but I was itching to get some pictures up since it's been so long.

WOW!!!!
I didn't even pay attention to the date until your last post. You are a lot more persistent then I would have been.
But it is nice!!!
How big is your sump?

Glad to see it up and running Jose! I remember moving the tank in that night...can't believe its been over 2 years ago.

Sump....I am looking to build a similar sump. Do you have any plans or measurements? What kind of flow thru rate do you plan on? Thickness of acrylic.....? Way freaking cool man!!!!

The sump is made by Dan's AquaPlex and measures 84" x 24" x 18". I have a Hammerhead pump as the return pump and with how high I have to pump I'm guessing it's seeing around 4500 GPH. The sump is made out of 3/8th's acrylic which I'd prefer 1/2 inch but that's what he made it out of.

yeah almost 3 years to get it up what was the problem ?

Honestly I got tired of working on it, work got hectic and I took on other hobbies.

WOW!

I am in the process of setting up an 8' tank. I can't imagine trying to move a 10 footer, even in acrylic! Just the length is a challenge!

... and I can't see the new pics either, glad it's not just me!
