ThE StArT Of My 120 BB sPs TaNk

yea I know because it does not fit in the overflowbox. but I was in hopes that as long as air gets in there that i would not cuase a problem. Does anyone else see this to be a problem?

i was kind of wondering about that also? i don't know if it will work right with the vent on that side?

i guess as long as it can break the siphon it should work.

it may just be the new trueblackpercula stand pipe . :)

Dumb question...

How does it not fit in the overflow? From the way the pic looks it shouldnt have any issue being in the overflow...especially since that part sticks up out of the overflow...

Here are the pictures I just took.as you can see it is to big for it to fit. I will have to cut it down just below the rime of the tank. But I have euro spalsh guards so it will have to go below it. That will not be done until this weekend.

Trueblack,

I would try it before cutting it. You never know, it just might work. I saw a thread once where someone with a simillar problem used 2 45 degree elbows to shift the pipe forward. The higher you keep it, the less noise you will get from the falling water.

Good luck

i do not me to sound negative but i dont think that will work that is why on my glass cages cube i opted for no bracing on the back ,,i used the other vertion of the stand pipe stockmans way maybe you might want to give that a try ,,i found it work alot better and take u[p less room

Very nice setup, keep the pictures coming. As far as the standpipe, try it with fresh water when your testing for leaks, if it works it works. If not just try another way.

I have made a few adjustments to the system today. For starters I have changed the durso pipe and cut it down some to fit.
Here are the modifications.

Enjoy everyone  It will be a while before I can do some more work to the tank. I need to find a 55 gallon drum made out of plastic for the make up water. Anyone have any ideas?
Michael:D :) ;) :o

A local guy here buys used chlorine plastic drums, rinses them, air dries them, and sells them to a LFS nearby, who in turn sells them for $15.00 each. I have two, and their work great.
You might try your local Coca-Cola bottler and see if they have any for sale...
If you're not lucky in that manner....try here.

cant wait till you put things in that are alive. im currently doing a 24x24x30 ATM and the thread has been very useful so far (i might copy your aquascaping but dont tell anyone that)

:) madok

Ok it has been a wile, Here are some up dated pictures. I have cut the wall out and picked up the rest of the plumbing. I even got a 1/4hp drop in chiller. All I need now is a 55 gallon drum to hold the water. I should be able to add water next week yea. I will be using tropic marine pro for the make up water. until next time when there better be water in the tank :) then all i will need is a good sorce for live rock.
Any got suggestions on good live rock?
P.S. I even put a picture of trueblackpercula in there :)

Thanks everyone so far for the advice.
Does anyone think that the stand needs any improvments? I would hate to have 120 gallons of water fall thru the the floor. Can anyone tell me how much weight 1 2x4 can handle?
if everyone say its ok than i will fill it with water this weekend.
Come on Greg give me some of that reefer god input:)
