Finally did the swap from the 60 to the 100g wide.
Tank is 48x24x20
2x Aquamedic 250w Ocean Lights with 10k XM
1 T5 NO actinic and 1 T5 NO actinic blue
EV-180 w/Mag 9.5
DIY steel stand with birch plywood shell/hood
Iwaki MD-70RTL on closed loop with Super Squirt
Mag 12 return
130lbs LR
120lbs of LS
DIY Fuge/Sump
Best of all NO MORE POWER HEADS!!
Shell and hood still needs final paint but otherwise it's 95% complete
What I found that the skimmer is what really clears up the water. I let the tank sit for a day while the skimmer wasn't doing anything. The cloudiness never cleared up.
Last night it took all but 3 hours and the tank is almost completely clear of cloudiness after the skimmer kicked in.
Still needs to do aquascape over. I couldn't see anything when putting them in.
Here's the skimmer after running for 6 hours. It's plumb directly into the drain so it gets 100% dirty water nothing goes to waste. It should be darker skimmate but I had an overflow in the chamber while tuning it.
