well just set up yesterday my ati sunpower 6x54... Its bright and sexy.

Im looking for a 20k to 22k look and my current bulb combo is giving me somewhere between a 14k to a 20k.

Got from front to back

ati blue plus
uvl super actinic (dawn and dusk)
fiji purple
ati blue plus
uvl 75/25 (dawn and dusk)
uvl super actinic

that is my 6 bulb combo, i got and extra ati blue plus bulb i could trow into the mix, which bulb should i replace in order to get more flourescence?

Might have to tweak the positions to get the blues on the dusk/dawn pair. SHould be fine for LPS up on the rocks a little, even monti SPS up high directly under the lamps.

Setting up a new tank and looking for a steer with 2 questions. Tank is 36" long x 24" wide and 17" tall (65gal). A shallow rimless that will be all SPS. First question, 6 or 8 bulb ATI? Next question, bulb recommendation ? Tks in advance.

i plan a mixed tank of sps lps and clams (lots of them)
i got the sfiligoi stealth 12 x 80w that will cover 3/4 of the tank.

the tubes readily available for me are

giessman
aqua blue plus
actinic plus
pure actinic
midday 6000

Phillips or Sylvania (cheaper than giessman)
6000 k
10000k
15000k

so what combination and in what order is best for me for good growth and color?

Use Giesemanns Aquablue and Actinic Plus.

For a 4 bulb configuration. Should I use 2 Giesseman AquaBlue Plus and 2 Actinic Plus? I can get UVL bulbs also. Should I have something else in there? Will the AquaBlue plus bulbs be the dawn/dusk lights?

Another stupid question. My fixture is 48". I think the bulbs are actually 46". When a bulb is listed at 48" is it actually 48 or does that mean it is for a 48 fixture.

I have a Current Nova Extreme fixture and want to make sure the bulbs I get fit.

I have the Stock OEM Bulbs that are just over 13months old, but have seen significant increase in green algae growth over the past couple of months (with my other chemical and water conditions remaining good, and no change in lighting schedule.)

I have lots of Hairy mushrooms, a big Zoa Growth, Fairly Large Toadstool Leather, but would like to introduce a some different corals to go with the small friendly fish population I have (2 Clowns, Flame Angel, 6 Line Wrasse).

any advice or suggested bulb configuration is greatly appreciated...

You want the 54W bulbs. They are technically 46" or so but they list them at 48".

*EDIT with the Bowfront, I'd say more of my Rockwork and Corals sit in the Back 1/2 of the tank vs. the front (more "open" sand in the front part of the bow).

Man, I'd love to see if those Sylvania lamps are the same as the ATI, they make the ATI lamps. If you can get a look at those running and the 15000K is crisp white with a slight blue tint that would be the Aquablue and the 15000K would be really blue if it were the blue plus.

But I am a firm believer in go with what you know, Giesemann

Approximate positions, arrange them so you get a good dusk/dawn set of lamps

The 54 watt lamps are the ones you use in a "48 inch" fixture, they are not 48" long.

For lamps use 2 Actinic Plus, the Aquablue and a UVL 75/25
