Grim, I think I have a new one for you. I'm going to be setting up a 26g bow front "show" refugium. I have a 4x24W PowerModule that I bought for the tank. What bulb combos would be visually nice but be great for growing macroalgae?

Anything but actinic lamps will work. It can look blue, green or yellow, even reddish. Just depends what you like.

Question for you Grim: I have a 6x39 aquaticlife fixture right now and I have a maxima clam on the sand (about 22" from light). It seems to be doing fine now. Do you feel it should be moved up? Also, I have a bulb order in right now for ATI bulbs to replace the stock Aquaticlife ones in there now. Thanks.

If it's a Crocea or Maxima I wouldn't trust it that low. Lower light clams might be OK under that fixture.

Which T5 Fixture

Which T5 Fixture

Hey Grim heres my question for ya. I currently have a standard 75 gallon tank 48 by 18 by 20 and i'm currently looking into t5 fixtures that would be able to take a pretty good chunk of coverage for a SPS dominated tank (mainly acros/clam). From reading some of these former post it would appear that the ATI fixtures are the top quality t5 fixtures out there(correct if this is wrong). My next question is which ATI fixture would you recommended the ATI Powermodule T5 High Output Fixture or The ATI SunPower, also would you get a 4, 6, or 8bulb fixture for a standard 75g tank . My primary concern is where i can place sps in the tank and still get enough light quality for the SPS to maintain bright vibrant colors and decent coral growth while still being able to place a clam or 2 on the sandbed so my last question is what bulb combination would you recommend for good color more on the blueish/purple side while still producing good growth based on which bulb fixture number you suggest:)

Thanks in advance your doing an excellent job on this forum.

ATI Sunpower

4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 ATI Purple Plus

will the ati 6x54 watt sun power be powerful enough to keep clams on the sand bed? which of the two has a better par value the sun power or the power mod // you suggested i do 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 ATI Aquablue and 1 ATI Purple Plus in which order from front to back should i go blues first aqua blue then purple?

I just bought a giesemann infinity 1x150w mh and 4x24w t5 fixture. The mh is a 14k phoenix, what is a good t5 setup for this. The t5's are spread out quite a bit due to the mh pendant in the middle of the fixture so I assume I will have to have the same 2 t5 combos in the front and back.

Do 3 ATI Blue Plus and 1 ATI Purple Plus in the 2nd position from front.

Looking for a few opinions here, I want a 6 bulb fixture but unfortunately it has to sit on the tank via legs. My LFS is trying to sell me a Aquaticlife 48" unit for $539, what is the general consensus on this unit, are there any better units out there that I can sit directly on my tank? Thanks for the help!!!

6x54w tek would be cheaper with better bulbs and you can buy legs for it. Check Reefgeek

I got my replacement ATI Purple + yesterday. I had been concerned with the coloring of the Powermodule since I set it up last Wednesday (F: B+, ABS, B+, B+, Geissman Aquablue, B+). The Geissman was put in because the P+ bulb I got was broken and it was the only 48" bulb the LFS had. The light coloring was way too blue for my liking. I put the P+ in last night and it looks so much better. The coloring on the fish is nicer, the 3 zoa frags light up a lot more.

I am debating whether it is a little too blue still. I will give this a couple weeks to get use to.

Thanks for all the advice here. I love my ATI Powermodule.
