Go with 4 Blue Plus, 1 Aquablue, 1 Super Actinic and 2 GE daylights. Gonna be a bright blue.

Thanks Grim.

Hi all!

I have a couple of bulbs that just burned out in my Tek Light and I am going to replace them. One of them isn't very clear to me as to what it is though. The bulb reads F54T5/865 CE and has the JALLI brand tagged on it. Any idea what this bulb would be?

I am going to replace all of the bulbs in the unit. It is a 6 x 54 watt unit on a 75 gallon tank. The current setup is from front to back:

(aqua medic) ocean blue, actinic
(ch lighting) 10000 K
(DbDiAQ) actinic +
(JALLI) f54t5/865
(ch lighting) 10000 K
(JALLI) actinic blue

I have had a ton of growth with this setup. My friends bring their frags over and leave them with me to get some growth going for their tanks. I would like to have some more flourescence given to the corals though. This setup gives a lot of white light.

Any recommendations as to what set up and brand of bulbs I should go with?

Thanks for all of the input and time.

Andy

If you use fans I think you can push either to about 18 months but I would change the lamps at 12 if you have light hungry critters.

hit reefgeek.com and get some good lamps. Use 2 GE daylight 6500K's, 1 ATI Aquablue, 2 Blue Pluses and 1 UVL Super Actinic. You think you have growth now:D

Hellolights has a special on 36" 2 x 39W Tek Light T5 Retrofit for $110 that come with TRU brand bulbs for free in 03 actinic and 10k. Are these quality bulbs and is this a pretty good deal??

thanks

I am setting up another 150 gal and going to try out T-5's on it. Compare it with my 125gal that has Metal halide.
My question ???

I want to run 8 54 watt T-5's or 5 80 watt T-5s on the system. I have read that 4 54watt T-5s is the same as having one 400 watt Metal Halide. Do you have a ballast that would run the 8 bulbs, or would i need to run to circuits, each with 4 bulbs apiece and have 2 ballast?

Do you sell the entire retrofit kits to install 8 T-5 54watt bulbs.

I came accross the following information, and I was wondering how correct it is?
T5 HO Fluorescent
*4-54W Bulbs Watts 216 Lumens 20,000 Lumens per Watt 92.6 Life Hours 20,000 Kilowatt Hours per year** 946 Bulb Replacement Cos$9-15 per bulb
Metal Halide Watts 400 Lumens 32,000 Lumens per Watt 80 Life Hours 20,000 Kilowatt Hours per year** 1,980 Bulb Replacement Cost$30-$40

* 4- 54W T5HO bulbs are equivalent to to one 400W HPS or MH bulb.

**Assumes bulbs are run 12 hours per day, 365 days per year.

hope someone can help me with the answers. thank you

36" Aquactinics T-5 Fixture (5 Bulb)

36" Aquactinics T-5 Fixture (5 Bulb)

I have all the bulbs except the ATI bulb and this is how I will set the arrangement in the fixture:

Front
ATI Aqua Blue Special (12000k)
Aquaz Blue Pro
Aquaz Sun Pro (6500K)
D&D Pure Actinic
Aquaz Ocean Pro (11000k)
Back

I am having pretty good growth now, but I want to add the missing bulb I have in the front slot that I haven't replaced yet. Any other recommendations besides the ATI bulb, or a rearrangement idea?
Thanks...

Trying to say X 54 watt T5's is equal to X halide is nuts. It depends on the particular lamps and the reflctors and how they system is mounted.

On the big tank I would run an 8 lamp 54 watt Ice Cap retro
