What vendor carries the UVL band?
PA does not.

Or is it the same as UV brand...and if so is there another name for 75/25?

Thanks,
Sean

Duh...UVL is the same as UV but I cannot find a bulb listed as 75/25. :jester:

Would it be Super Blue or 14K perchance?

Add in a Aquasun and a Blue Plus. I might be tempted to add another blue Plus in place of the aquablue too.

Grim, thanks a lot for your quick response. So you recommend:

- ATI Pro Color
- ATI Blue Plus
- UVL Super Actinic
- UVL AquaSun
- ATI Blue Plus
- ATI Aquablue or ATI Blue Plus

Do you think I would still get a purple tint with that combination?

Should I get the Aquablue or the Blue Plus for that last bulb??

Grim Reefer: I accidentally posted this as a new thread a few days ago:
I thought I was going to go with metal halide but now that I have found this I am seriously considering T-5's. My tank is a 37 gallon cube 24x18x21 deep. I would like to be able to keep just about anything including a clam. I am considering the ATI powermodule. Should I get the 4 or 6 bulb. Also the Aquactinics T5 unit. Is one of these units better than the other? All other opinions are very appreciated also. Thanks for all the help. Linda

Grim I need your help. I was going to go with 8x54 SLR T5 retro for my 120 gl. I was able to get a brand new 4x54 VHO SLR retro on IC660 that I couldn't pass up that came with 2 Giesemann Midday, and 2 Giesemann Actinic. I now plan on getting 4x54 HO SLR.
What bulbs should I get for the HO SLR? I'm looking for a 14-15k look. If I have to buy extra bulbs to replace the Giesemann bulbs that fine.
What 4 bulbs should be on the IC660, and what 4 on the regular HO ballast? Do you think this is too much light for SPS, and LPS on the bottom? Is it also ture that the IC660 changes the color/spectrum of the bulbs(blue bulbs looking almost whitish)? Sorry for all the questions, I just wanted to make sure that I'm going in the right direction with my light setup. Thanks for your help.

Add 3 ATI Blue Pluses and a Pro Color to what you have now. Run 2 Blue Pluses and 2 Midday's on the Ice Cap ballast. Overdriving might seem to make the lamps less blue but I personally don't buy into them changing the spectrum. The lamp creates UV light which causes phosphores on the glass tube to emitt light. If anything the increased intensity would increase blue spectrum.

SHould be sorta purple hued blue.

Grim... aquasun AND Procolor TOGETHER??? What would this look like? And what would be the reasoning behind using both of them?

To light the tank

:D

The Aquasun doesn't have nearly as much red in it as the Procolor.

Should be fine. The Aquasun and Blue Pluses all have a lot of PAR. You could use a UVL 75/25 in place of the Super Actinic

What would be the point of replacing the Super Actinic for a UVL 75/25? more PAR? is it the same spectrum? I just don't want to lose the purple tint.
