Hey wanted to see if any one has heard of this company. Looks like a nock off t-5 can't find any info on this company.
This is the add floating around Price is great. bit i have see cheap lights before.

KATANA HIGH OUTPUT GISEMANN STYLE MODULE PENDENTS …includes bulbs actinic 20k and 10k 2 separate on off switches for the 4 bulb system and 1 switch for the 2 bulb system both systems have electronic ballast and 6 foot power cords comes with adjustable footings and mirror reflector.... BRAND NEW JUST RELESED THE 2-3 AND 4 FOOT 4-BULB SYSTEMS NOW COME WITH LED BLUE MOON LIGHTS,INDIVIDUAL REFLECTERS AND 3 SEPARATE POWER CORDS.... 1 year plus warranty and excellent customer support

Thanks

The Gisemann pendants arent all that good to start with so I dobt a knock off is worth messing with.

Giesemann insists T5 fixtures don't need cooling. We've already proven that is flat out wrong so.

I suspect the UVL 454 will be close to the Blue Plus. Once reefgeek gets them in I will try one. It's time to stock up on lamps again anyway and I need to test drive the Giesemann Aquaflora anyway.

I'd get the Tx5.

Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Super Actinic
GE 6500K Daylight
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue

Are these mix of bulbs good for keping corals too?

Grim,

I don't know if you saw my post earlier about the Aqua Flora bulb.

I can't measure PAR but I can tell you it is pink for sure!

Thanks rtparty really appreciate y'all help!

this is a great thread. way too much reading though, i will be reading thru it the rest of the day

well anyways here is my question. i have a 58G oceanic rr tank with an outer orbit light. it currently has 1 150w 14k pheonix MH bulb and 4 regular t5's. currently i am getting ready to upgrade the T5's to HO and i need to buy some HO T5's. what would look good with a nice coral POP?

Front
UVL super atinic
UVL aquasun
14k Pheonix 150w MH
UVL super atinic
UVL aquasun
Back

i would like to have a nice blue coloration but as of right now the tank is too dark. i figure with me upping the t5's from 21w to 39w that would make a huge difference in the light. but i still like the kinda bluer look and i love my zoas and corals to POP and glow. but i dont want the tank too dark either.

thanks for all the help guys, i really need to order these bulbs while i have the money:lol:

i forgot to mention that my current setup is like this: keep in mind the T5's i am currently using are not HO's and are only 21w

front
10k
420
14k pheonix 150w mh
420
10k

and how about this setup instead of the 1 up top:

Front
UVL super atinic
UVL Aquasun
14k Pheonix
UVL Aquasun
UVL Actinic white

please let me know what you guys think.
thanks

I just purchased a new Nova Extreme Pro. 36" on EBay. Who knows, it may have been one or more of you bidding against me!!! lol I got it for $195.00 from Current.
It has been suggested that I replace the tubes. By mojo46825 with:

ATI blue plus
ati procolor
ati blue plus
ge 6500k or uvl aquasun
ati blue plus
ati aqua blue special

some of the photos I have seen look just brilliant with kind of lighting.
Now that I know Reefgeek is a "where" and not a "who" I'll check into them for getting the lights.

Yeah, I saw your post.

I suspect it will have more red than a Aquasun and less red than the pro color but I got to try it for myself before I can really give someone an opinion on it

Im doing a 40 gal breeder some sps, some lps. Will an icecap 4x39w be enough?

Should be fine. I might actually go with the wider Tek II reflectors over the short tank. They will get you better coverage front to back and still have plenty of PAR.

Do this

ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75/25
Halide
UVL Aquasun
ATI Blue Plus

The Blue Pluses will pop your corals and add some actinic while the 75/25 will give a lot of actinic but at the same time work with the Aquasun to brighten things up and add a tad of extra red to the spectrum to help warm up the look.

Hello, I ordered a few 39w ATI plus and a pro color. Should receive them today. Here's hoping they show up in one piece!

So I will have the following bulbs at my disposal. Can you please suggest a bulb order (back to front), using 6 of the following bulbs? They are being used in a Catalina Aquariums T5 retrofit kit (with moonlights) with individual reflectors inside the canopy over my 46g bow front tank.

3x ATI Blue+
1 ATI Pro Color
2 UV 12,000k
1 Current 10,000k
3x CA Actinic Blue

Currently I'm using everything except the ATI bulbs. It's a very white light. Not so sure I like it. If you could explain the advantage to your suggestion vs what I currently have I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks! :)

You do know you need to change the ballasts to use HO lamps if the fixture came with the normal output lamps correct?

One thing you might think about is adding individual reflectors if the fixture does't already have them. 4 HO T5 lamps will likely give you as much PAR as the 150 watt Phoenix lamp. Aquactinics makes a retro reflector that is 2" wide that does a great job.

You want to use a couple Blue Plus T5 lamps for sure. They have a bunch of PAR and pop colors great. You should try this

Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL 75/25 (Similar to actiic white, just has more actinic)
Halide If you really want to brighten the tank switch to a 10K halide)
Aquasun
Blue Plus

If you are using the pro color use the GE lamp over the Aquasun. Using a Pro Color and Aquasun in a 6 lamp mix might have a little more red than you would like.

ok, thanks for your thoughts here. i am switching the ballasts out aswell. only thing i needed was the bulbs but i want to make sure i get a good color combo right from the start. i was worried that the tank would not be bright enough using too many blue bulbs.

would this combo work as well as the one you mentioned? i am ordering from a site that only carries the following bulbs.

aquatic life
URI
current
coralife

could this combo work well?

Front
UVL super atinic
UVL 75/25
halide
Aquasun
UVL super atinic or actinic white??? maybe another bulb?
