Sea cucumber. Nice creature. Done wonderful things for the sandbed so far, in just a week.

The anemone is doing well. It hard started to not do so well before the move because it had moved out of the light (stupid thing), but nothing bad. However, it is back to its glorious self now. Took about a couple of days before it was "normal."

Love these new orange turbos! Hadn't seen them before!

IMG_2471.jpg

This is starting to take off. Looking at the photo now, I can see it is hard to see in the photo what I see in person, but it is really healthy up there.

IMG_2474.jpg

Peppermint shrimp has taken residence up there!

IMG_2476.jpg

I love this angle. Looks cool. Can't wait for that to grow in. New lights are in the mail. new bulbs will help out!

Hope it was worth your time to look! Thanks for all the positive comments!

So cool. TOTM IMO. I just love the shots of the pools. Just had to say it again. Keep the the pics coming. What lighting st up are you running. Can we get pics of lighting and sump/ equipment??

A+ on the tank. Do you find the crabs eat or attack your animals? Anythime I've had a large crab(tropical) in my reef it goes nuts and tears stuff up. Maybe the pacific variety is more mellow. I would like to see your plumbing and equipment under the hood also. I live in San Diego maybe I should go out and capture a couple of rock crabs. Although they probably wouldn't look as nice unless they are in a setup like yours. Is your carpet anemone a Haddoni or a Gigantea?

Keep up the good work.

It's a Haddoni, and I think the crabs do well because of the set up. So, I agree, you may not have a super outcome. I tried this way way way back with little luck because I didn't wet the exposed rock. It just sat there and cooked. Nothing wanted to go out. Further still, crabs are scaredy cats so you would also need to have wet, exposed rock with caves or "hideouts."

I believe there are some plumbing shots on the first page. However, it may be time to do some new photos! I just got some new lights, and so I decided to go through and clean the pumps and other not fun stuff too. I will get some shots soon on the behind the scenes stuff.

That crab is absolutely incredible. It's so colorful!

I know, huh?! They are awesome. That shot was even better because he was all wet and right under the light. Couldn't ask for a better shot there! Well, maybe the better shot would have been him eating a huge piece of $1 shrimp instead of a $15 goby.

I kinda wish the red valve wasn't in the picture. I tried to take it fast enough to not have it move, but I didn't review the shots immediately to know I got the valve in the shot. Oh well.:spin2:

They are two 150w halides. Just got new bulbs that are 15,000k instead of 14,000k. My mistake was getting a different brand. the 14,000's I had were much whiter than normal 14,000k but I wanted a slightly less yellow tint, BUT, like an idiot, ordered a different brand because they were on sale. I didn't even realize until I tossed them in. Oh well. They still aren't blue, but not quite white either. Very beautiful color, but not what I was after. Oh well.

You probably won't want to read this but the goby makes the shot. You have nature in your house doing its thing.
If it had been a white piece of shrimp it would have been good but it really looks like something out of National Geographics magazine.

No one knows the valve is there. Just call it a red crab.

I never noticed it. My focus was drawn immediately to the crab eating the goby...it's just a blur of color, could be a flower in the background.

That shot is amazing...really a great photo. I don't know if they do a photo of the month, but they should, and this should be it.

I didn't notice the valve either until the OP mentioned it.

Some shots. These are a couple of night shots, and a couple with the new lights. As mentioned, they are 15,000K's and a touch too blue for me, BUT, at least my greens are green now instead of brown! That's a bonus!

The anemone with an LED maglight on it. Pretty.

It's always funny to see the plate coral balloon up after it feeds.

It's gonna explode!

Thanks for looking as always!
