The Volcano Tank - Konolua

I've got to say I absolutely love your tank, the concept, how clever and real it looks, and the live stock selection. I love the crabs, the 2 pairs of clowns, the nem, and the fuzzy dwarf lion fish. Most people do not combine those and it just amazes me. Also the little hitch hiker nems are very cool. Also I love the color of the new 15K bulbs.

One of the most beautiful tanks, and an inspiration! I'm going to "borrow" some ideas and hopefully pull it off. Definitely a TOTM!

Ur tank makes me mad.
Mad that its so awesome and so out of my league. I have only been reef keeping for 8 months but this type of thinking creatively is something that I will carry with me always. There in the back of my mind I will always know that when people say "you cant do a tank that shallow" "that fish cant go with that one" "blah blah" I can know that we dont always know.

Course there is a balance to that and you dont want to unduly hurt the animals because you think you know better when you are still a newb. My drawn out point is that look what can be accomplished when you harness the skill of reef keeping and embrace creativity.

Good job man.

Wow. Killer comment. Thanks so much.:smurf:

Got some new mangroves. Wanted some mature ones, but no where to be found! Anyway, to keep the picture posting marathon going, here are some new shots.

There is something about urchins I love.

These new lights make these things glow! They are not that pretty in real life. It's crazy!

I wanted to have a silhouette shot, but was unable to get it. Still kind of neat though.

With the previous lights, there was no green in the middle of the polyps. Unbelievable.

Put a vignette on this shot. That is our baby crab. It is substantially smaller than the others. I wish I had a point of reference.

As always, truly amazing. Are those mangroves ok for the DT? Do they get root crazy? Never kept them before and was thinking of trying some in my refugium.

What is the "DT?" The roots do get crazy, but unmangeable. Just hard to move them. However, in a refugium, they will be perfect!

Doesn't your Fuzzy Dwarf chow down on your shrimp? Have always wanted a fuzzy dwarf buthave stayed away thining he'd eat my cleaners
