The wireless internet thing.

Can someone please post a link to the little wireless thing people use to connect the apex to their wireless network? I can't remember what its called, I know its not a bridge or whatever (maybe it is). Also, is this ok to plus into the end sockets of the DC, the ones that not supposed to be good for high power devices? Thanks in advance.

You got a typo in there that I cant understand the Q.
Plugs 4 and 8 are for those low draw outlets like a maxi jet or something.

You plug the cat5 cable into the Base Module and the other goes to your Router.
Then in the address you type "http://apex"

That will get you to the login

then you are on your way-

Sorry. My apex is set up and running fine. My issue is that i would like it to be wirelessly connected to my network because I have hard wood floors, and I have no real way of running 25ft of cable across the room to the router. There is a little mini wireless router thing that would work, but i can't remember what its called/ where to find it. I was told that the end plugs of the DC8 (4,8) and not advisable to use on high draw items, something about tri-arc and them being stuck on (again, fuzzy memory). I was curious if the wireless router thing was appropriate to run off of those because as of now I feel I have to unused outlets. Again, thanks.

You're mixing things together.

The bridge devices you're talking about (Powerline) plug into your wall outlet, then connect via ethernet cable to your Apex and your router at the other end.

The relay outlets (4 & 8) on the DC8 and the EB8 are sometimes used for VERY low current drawing devices like dosing pumps.

It is a device that you plug into the apex and then transmit wirelessly for your router to pick up the signal. It's made by companies like Dlink and stuff, but I think someone mentioned it was a discontinued item, so you have to find it on sites like newegg because bestbuy doesn't carry them. For the DC8 stuff, i mean just the power supply of this item, I think its a little ac/dc thing the size of a cellphone charger. I just can't remember what its called.

I think you are looking for a wireless bridge http://lmgtfy.com/?q=wireless+bridge (I love that site! :) )

They are not discontinued, many people use them for game consoles and such.

You can plug the power supply for the bridge into any of the EB8 or DC8 outlets, just make sure you program them to be always on.

Pogo, here are some example of wireless gaming adapters:

I recommend the Linksys WGA600N. The Linksys WET610N is good too, but is a bit of a PITA to configure... the WGA600N is much easier.

I think you ae asking if you can set a DC8/EB8 outlet to on all the time, and power the wireless adapter from that. Yes, you can, but IMO that is a waste of a smart outlet. Better to just use a regular wall outlet.

The relay-controlled outlets (4 & 8) are good for both very low-power devices and for devices which draw too much current for the TRAIC-controlled outlets. The relays can handle more current... the problem lies with devices that have a high initial surge, which can cause arcing within the relay and stuck contacts.

sweet, thanks a ton guys. Would a tek light be too much for those outlets? Thats what i would prefer to put on those two, because of the odd ball cord. Thanks again guys.
