Looking to replace my cheapo little thermometer. Looking for suggestions. Im willing to spend around $50 or so for a really accurate one. Im running two 150w Eheim Jagers.
Would it not function properly being in saltwater? I dont mind having to dip the prob in to read the temp. I just need something that is balls to the wall accurate.
Get yourself a Ranco or a Medussa temp controller and use it not only for a reliable temp reading and to bypass your heaters' internal thermostat. I prefer the Ranco, personally.
For a few dollars more, get a RKL; their temp readings are very accurate IME!
Ronco's are great! I have one inline with both of my reefs and they are my primary heater controls, I use the RKE's as a fail safe with the Ranco, no fried fish yet!
