So I tried out the whole DIY led kits and they just didn't work out. So I'm going with something preassembled. I looked around and LEDwholesalers have really good prices. So heres two options I was looking at

1. http://www.ledwholesalers.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=702

2. http://www.ledwholesalers.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=703

I have a 33gallon cube. Its 18x18x18. So that 12x12 panel looked very interesting to me. With the par38 I would think I would need two? but I'm only growing some lps and softies NO sps. So you think I can get away with one?

Also anybody else have some good options for light kits that are reasonable priced?

Thank you and happy reefing to you all :bounce2::bounce3::bounce2::bounce3:

The PAR 38 is a better choice than the panel because the panel does not have lens to focus the light and furthermore these panels are KNOWN not to last long because they are not designed properly. I have traded some of these panels just to illustrate my point to our club members when they are planning to get them. ALL three fixtures started to burn out within 3 months.

Really? hmm well thank you for that info! Yeah I really like these par38's with the remote controller. You think I get away with one? and maybe add a second one down the road. Also any tips on how to mount these guys? or what fixture to use?

I am not sure whether you can get away with just one blub. I will try to take PAR data of 12x1W with 4 12,000K , 4 Royal Blue and 4 Standard Blue in one bulb
If the driving current of the two different bulb are similar, the PAR data could be a reference for you.

Here is PAR data of a bulb that is close in arrangement to the one you linked

Looks like you should get at least 15x1W or even 18x1W

The PAR of a 18x1W is here
