Ted, you're gonna be the Deltec poster boy!

Chuck,

I'm old enough to remember posters associated with charity!!! In my case, I will gladly accept donations of rowalith and rowaphos. I plan on holding telethon to raise money to buy the FR509's bigger brother as well as the kalk stirrer!!! LOL

Hah, hah, I'm just getting lots and lots of ideas for my new tank....between you and Scott, my next tank is almost layed out. Course I gotta get someone to build me the stand and canopy....

Ted, what is the Deltec furthest to the left? Is that a calcium reactor? I have the 509 and really like it, but the bigger one is just too expensive to justify for me.

Yours and algaeman's and reefboy's are definitely the reason I check RC every day!

I tell you - if I had a Deltec I would get a self cleaning head. These Eheims are so damn efficient you have to clean them every couple days!

That self-cleaning head costs over $1K. I would love to see one in action though to see how effective it really is.

Left to right, the line up is:

PF600S Calcium Reactor
AP702 Protein Skimmer
FR509 Fluized Reactor.

The FR509 is rated at a couple of hundread gallons but I'm hoping that I won't need anything bigger because the price jump to the next size is substantial.

I'm starting to save my $$ for the self cleaning head:rollface:

I have to tell you that I am envious of being able to do the outdoor cabinet plumbing! I don't think it would work in Colorado:)

Great thread and good job with a clean install!

Chiller ????

Chiller ????

All,

I will have 1600w of MH lighting over the system and being in SoCal with the sump/refugium outdoors, I am starting to think about a larger chiller.

I would appreciate any feedback on large capacity chillers.

Thanks and cya,

Ted

Wow, this is amazing. If you need help with anything, let me know. Like help with standing and gawking at the tank, that's my specialty.

Thanks everyone. No progress since last Wednesday.

cya,

hmmph! I guess that big heavy sump just moved itself huh?:p

Ted I should not have stopped by the other day... Im thinking about running a pair of pipes out the wall to my pool patio and running a large sump outside. The wife said no, but I dont think she heard me saying how quiet the tank would be then, or the fact that I wont have the 60g in the closet as a refugium. No wait, she did hear that because she commented on the newly installed can lighting and exhaust fan in the "newly enlarged" fish closet... I guess my setup is fine the way it is...

David,

Thanks again for the help! LMK if you feel like driving down to Dave B's. I put water back into the sump and need to go pick up my LR and bring it to my house.

Ted

Sure!! get someone to do all the heavy lifting... Come on with more pics already....

Anyone know where Dave B is? I called and email him the last few days and he is not around.

Pierce,

I think he was "tied up" :eek1: all weekend (I don't know her name). I spoke with him yesterday.

With 120g of water in the refugium, the acrylic in the refugium bowed so I drained the sump and refugium and the manufacturer installed two cross braces. I added water last night (to the sump/refugium) only. When the water is up to temp, etc, I will pickup my LR from Dave and put that into the sump and refugium. Hopefully this weekend.

There is an issue with the tank preventing completion of the plumbing so while I wait on that I am starting to work the canopy as well as completing the outside cabinetry.

Are you going to NERAC this weekend?

cya,

Ted

NERAC?

Let me know when you want to pu your rock. Ive got drywallers and a door manufacturer (and hoping for a roofer to show up) in my house today and tomorrow (hopefully not saturday) and will be painting/laying the wood floors this weekend. But just about any other time...

Yup, I plan to be there as of this Tuesday, hope nothing changes before this weekend. Ask her to un-tie Dave so he can get some work done on your set up this weekend.
