Been having a little DIY bug lately. First, added an additional 18" to my downflow skimmer. The insert was fabricated by Paul (First Class Aquatics) and fit perfectly. He really did an excellent job.
The second is a partially finished reactor I picked up on Friday at the Garage Sale Meeting. $20 in parts later and its working great as a fluid reactor. I chose to mod it this way so it could still be easily converted to a larger CA reactor or skimmer down the road. For reference, there is 2# of carbon in it now.
