Thin branch purple acro.

I would like to replace a colony that I lost last year, but suddenly I'm realizing what I had may have been somewhat uncommon. I am fairly certain it was not Acropora Nana or Valida as the growth had more echinata like formation and was more fully purple than nana or valida that I have seen. Its also not Purple Monster because its wasn't rounded on the tips at all.

Anyways, any guesses on what this is and whether or not someone else has it?

One of the pieces I was going to put up for ID looks like it has a very similiar shape to yours. It was a darker purple but since being moved up high, has definately lightened. If this is the same type of coral I would definately be along for the ride.

It looks to be A. valida. A. echinata does not have appressed radials. What is currently under the A. valida description could represent a group of diverging species. They are all similar, but the growth forms of the colonies range from tables to corymbose bushes. Yours is a particularly attractive blue form. Set some frags and get that baby around!
