things my mantis will/won't attack and things it eats

my mantis is 2"-3"long and i believe it is s N.bredini

so far my mantis....


Does not attack my :

nassarius snails
cerith snails
margarita snails
astrea snails
scooter blenny
feather duster worms
bi-valves
blue dwarf hermit


Does attack:

Ghost shrimp : mantis immediately goes into hunting mode the second they hit the water and becomes very active.

Stomatella snails : have found a couple tiny stomatella shells out side the door of his hole, i assume he ate them

pineapple sponges : sometimes i catch him running towards his hole carrying one, then i noticed at night he packs them into the opening of his hole and makes a door with them.


things it likes to eat;

piece of table shrimp
piece of scallop
Ghost shrimp
stomatella snails


do they eat bristleworms?

*For sure safe with stomatapods (with maybe size ranges provided)
*Usually safe with stomatapods (risky if they're hungry!)
and then more specifics
*Safe with spearer
*Safe with smasher



ANYWAYS!... do you have pics of your mantis and what species is it?!

Im worried about your Scooter Blenny, is it larger than the mantis?

ALSO - are feather dusters very safe with mantis in general?

sorry bout, i believe it's an N.bredini.
and no sorry no real good pictures, the best ones i have are in my "$1 mantis" thread

with the large variety to mantis size and habitat i don't think this could ever be considered any sort of master list of cohabitants. but it would be interesting to know what people have had success keeping with larger mantis.


actually the mantis and blenny seem to get along pretty well there almost exactly the same size, i see them within a couple inches of eachother several times a day,
