Thinking about getting out of the hobby

Dont sell that tank. If you do I want it back. I feel partially attached to that stand I looked at it for six months.

Well, Let me sleep on it. I think if I got an RODI unit I would keep it, I just didn't want to put another $200-$300 into something. I am tired of dragging buckets back and forth. I really enjoy working on the tank, I just never keep up on my top off water needed for it. Plus I was kind of in a huff because I had no fridge/freezer the past couple days at the new place and had to go across town to pick up some frozen foods every night.

And it would be nice to put 2k towards those pesky credit cards.

I will think about it for a night or two and let you guys know what I decide.

Thanks for the concern.

If only an R/O system is what you are missing I have a few extras I could let go for a few frags or something like that. THey would need a new carbon and prefilter but those are cheap. Hate to see a hobbyist get out let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the support guys!! After sitting in front of the tank a couple hours I decided to keep it. I hope I do not regret this but I ordered a Typhoon 3 extreme RODI Unit also.

Maybe this will make things a little easier. Thanks again for talking me back into it and the helpful ideas and offers.

Sorry to the people who wanted stuff, but stuff grows and I will frag one day!

You can get rid of cable tv now :D.

Excellent choice! Make sure you get a float valve with it. It really sucks when you forget that you're making water and then it either goes down the drain or on the floor. Once you start drinking the RO water all other water becomes inferior, no matter where you are. Once you start seeing your sediment filter turn mud brown, you won't even want to use tap water to brush your teeth.

That gives me encouragment,

Where do you get a float valve arround here? How much do they run? I don't know why I did not get one. I went to bed and realized I left the ro system running filling up a second bucket. I had a nice flood last night. It did not get on the wood floor but still no fun to clean up at 11:30.

I bought my float/solinoid valve at C&C for around $60. You have to have the solinoid valve though to shut the RO off not just a float. Otherwise the waste water line will just keep running.

The Typhoon III comes with an Auto Shut off Valve (ASOV). The website that you can't link to or even mention their name here on RC (a1rwaterice.com) sells them for $12.95. They are pressure sensitive and automatically shuts the water flow off on the system when the float valve closes.

I think the Typhoon III extreme comes with everything needed for an auto shut off? If not what else do I need to get?

Now that Patrick isn't getting out of the hobby, maybe we can talk cars :D. That looks pretty sweet Jason. How long have you had it?

all my life.. lol.. My father bought it new in 71. I learned how to drive in it. The resto has taken 8 years. Its soooo close though. All that is left is to finish the brakes, and the driveshaft needs shortened. I switched the tranny from an a904 to a 727.. and the 727 is about 4" longer. but thats about it. I have not worked on it yet this year.. I find myself standing at my tank when I have free time... lol
