Thinking about getting out of the hobby

Here is some stuff I will have to offer, it will be offered as a package price and individually priced possibly. I decided to get out of the hobby due to the fact that I barley get to see my tank let alone take care of it as much as I want too. I plan on getting back into guns and cars and maybe working towards a BS degree.

The live stock will have to be sold first before I sell any of the dry goods. And I am in no hurry to sell this stuff.

-125 gallon tank, calfo overflow, drilled for a return and overflow, fully plumbed.
- Stand, custom built very tall stand; oak
- 55 custom sump/refuge
- GenX 6000 return
- 2x 250watt halides, PFO pendants, Icecap E-ballasts, wired boxes, 12K reeflux bulbs (brand new)
- Light rack
- 2x Tunze nano-streams 6045
- 1 SEIO 800GPH
- Heaters (3)
- Live Rock (approx. 100lbs)
- Live sand
- FoxFace
- Royal Gramma
- Scooter Blenny (very large)
- Sand sifting Star (large)
- inverts
- Refractometer
- Bucket of Salt (instant ocean)
- ASM G2 in sump skimmer
- Phosban reactor w/ some ROWA
- Multiple Test kits/materials
- Life reef overflow (sold seperate as it is not needed with this tank)

I will add more when I check out what else I have when I get home and post a price for everything. I am thinking the price may be around $1500-$2500, PM if you think you will be interested and I will let you know the the price first so you get first dibs.

If you are interested in everything PM me and we can work out a deal.

Add everything up you have $3,640.00

If someone wants everything I will sell for the low low price of $2,000 for everything. a savings of $1,640!!!

Lights won't be sold until live stock is gone, which may be a while.

I want someone to buy the entire set-up :)

I haven't been in the hobby very long. The money I put towards it is becoming a bit of a problem, so I figure I better cut myself off from it completely and get out of some money troubles and work towards a better degree to get a better job.

I will be waiting a while to see if anyone wants to buy everything first before I start parting things out.

I will also sell all of the coral together which comes out to be $1,255 for the low low SEAS price of $1,000

Holy Cow Patrick! Your kidding . A little bit of automation (calcium reactor, auto top off) would free up A LOT of time you spend maintaining and worrying about your tank.

Or, if you decided not to completely leave the hobby, you could have a softie tank with a few fish and practically do nothing to it as far as maintenance is concerned and it would still thrive and be beautiful. You could move down to some less expensive lighting too.

If you are tight on money, the car hobby is not the place to be :D.

lol, John Kelly...You are sooo right. I know all about the expense of cars! By FAR saltwater is a cheaper hobby... Heres my Baby! :

I could buy a few 125's for what I have in her!

Well, the car thing may be out of question, when I had my lightning, I had a few mods done and I wanted to do some stuff to my GTI, but I may just get back into guns.

:( Are you sure you want out of the hobby? I've pondered the idea twice - once when we had the kid - and back in Feb when we had the power outtage - but there's something so compelling about trying to keep a closed lil ecosystem and I don't think I could ever get out of it.
As John said above, man... with as much as you've spent on having a GREAT set-up (my wife even asked me "why don't we buy it?"), just plop down a few more bucks for auto-top off and go HANDS off as far as maintainence - after maybe a year of only paying for salt, you can find yourself breaking even (at least) by fragging for salt.

All that said though...
I'd really like pics of the tort and your clams. I'm still reading up on the foxface - but I am definitely interested. What brands are your test kits?

Get another night's sleep on it, think it through. You've spent MUCH more on this setup than you're selling it for. If you are worried about losing money - don't just let that much cash slip through your fingers.

I hope I don't sound too OLD here - I just really hate to see someone assemble such a great system - but then get out cold turkey so quickly.

Good luck to you though!
