Thinking of setting up tank again...

Hello everyone =]

Time to set up another tank. Although this time it will likely be much slower now that I have mortgage and stuff lol.

From quickly throwing some numbers together, it looks like to just set up system with hardware and rocks I'm looking at around 5k >< Of course that's with all new premium items. So that hurts lol.

So for now I guess I'll just plan out hardware list and slowly work on obtaining thing in some order that would allow me to at least have rock in the water quickest.

Setup wise I have a 5' wide 4' deep cubby that would probably be best for a tank. Bathroom is right on the other side of the wall that already have been deemed utility. There are some other spots to fit bigger tanks, but this one seems most comfortable, especially for maintenance.

So this leaves me with few options, the most obvious a 120g 2x2x4 tank. Similar but 3 feet deep would work as well and likely be nicer, but not sure how common those tanks are and if price would go up a lot.

First, on the plate would be deciding on tank size, getting it, building a stand and fitting largest sump i can under it =] Then plumbing and return pump short after.

There's a guy on Craigslist Daytona selling a 50x30x18 tank and steel stand for a pretty good price. I was considering that for a new display but was already half way through building a new stand for my old tank.

Thanks for the suggestions, too early to buy anything. Will probably get tank and build stand in 2-3 months. Sump wise I never used actual sump, always just a smaller tank. Seemed cheaper, but will look into it further.

I have a 150g ReefSavvy posted here on the forums if your interested

Yep, I saw that one, good dimensions since I can't go too much longer over 48, but not ready to buy stuff yet. Perfect would be 60x36x24 :)
