This could get interesting

Hopefully the folks higher up the food chain at Petco have a better idea of marine organisms than the store level employees..... local store employees aren't very up on marine fish care, at least not the few I've talked to. Just makes me glad we have a great LFS in the area!

Edited your link since the first one got snagged by the censor. :)

Ah crap. This is not good. I love Drs Foster and Smith. I know Petco will mess it up one way or another.

Wow...unbelievable!!!! Petco needs to focus on taking better care of their live marine animals first instead of trying to aquire new ventures! This is very scary!!!!

I've ordered from Petco online before and their livestock is in pretty good condition. The marine life in stores is usually in awful shape, but the online stuff is pretty good quality, at least in my experience.

That would actually make sense, considering they use the same suppliers as everyone else.

And I'm just spit balling here but, what if Petco merged with DFS and LiveAquaria to improve their current instore saltwater situation?

I think there is a lot of potential there - they could start offering the aquacultured DFS corals in store, etc.

Although they still need to work on their in store employees. I've met a couple who have a real good idea on what's going on but for the majority it's just blank stares.
