Just kidding about the subject line but after I finish setting up this tank and my wife see's the bills it may not be a joke any longer.

I picked this monster up at FAOIS (John, thanks for feeding the addiction) yesterday and raised it up into the wall last night.
I thought I would start a online diary of the installation to share with you all.
The tank measures 96"L x 48"D x 30"H. I currently have one slightly smaller that I am going take town and transfer all of the contents to the new tank. The following is a breakdown of the equipment I will be running:

Lighting:
(4) 400 watt Icecap's
(4) 250 watt Icecap's

Circulation and water movement:
Sequence Barracuda: 4000 gallons/hour
Tunze Wavebox plus extension: I am going to have to play aorund with these to get the best results. I am initially going to put both boxes centered on one of the 48" ends so the wave can travel the length of the tank.
(2) Tunze 6200 streams

Filtration:
120 gallon sump
Euro Reef - Not sure what model yet.

Misc:
Chiller - Aqualogic 1 HP
Calcium Reactor: I am currently running a Korraline but when I bought it the unit was rated for a slighty smaller tank than the one I had and I constantly changed out the media. That being said I am probably going to upgrade to something bigger:)
Red sea Ozonizer
I have approx. 700 lbs of live rock in my current tank but I am planning on adding another 300 to achieve the aquascaping I want.

The tank is going to be viewable from the front and one of the sides as I really wanted to visual of looking down the length of the tank.

HOLY CRAP!!
Whats the gallonage on this one? and if you dont mind, what was a guesstimate of the cost on the tank?

Approx. 600 gallons.
Most of the equipment I am using is being transfered from the old tank but I will probably put another $6000 into this one.

thats going to be awesome. as for a calcium reactor I have to suggest using a shuran. they are the only ones using new tchnology that makes them alot more powerful and efficient. I have one on my 265 and love it. emmett also has one. john at ichthy has some in stock.
you going to post any moving from pics of the old tank?
got any cool corals or frags for sale?
had to ask since you have a big tank already.

Awesome tank!!!
Hey if she does leave you snatch her panty hose so you can use it for filter socks. Just hold that over her head, shes not getting out with a good pair so dont get any wise ideas lol...

robthorn,

No coral frags for sale. I had just loaded up on several Acan, Micro's, and monti frags just before I decided to setup this new tank. Once they grow out I may frag some out.
I will try to post picks of the move.

Triggerfish,

Very nice. Sounds like you are taking no short cuts. When it is complete you will have to have an open house so we can see it. (-:

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,
Chris

was your previous tank acrylic too? if youre going to sell it PM me and how big was the old one?(gallons)

That's going to be amazing when it's finished. I'm also in St. Pete, PM if you ever need a hand, would love to see the setup.

Robthorn: I am looking at getting a Shuran I just couldn't remeber the name when I originally started the post.

Everyone else: I am planning on starting the plumbing for the sump this coming week and hope to have everything up and running by the 2nd week of July.
