i use to have a pair of yelow striped maroon clowns.. they were so cute cudling their sebae anemone...

but since yesterday, i saw the male clown died.. i dont know why... now my big, fat female clown is all lonely...

so i tried searching a yellow striped maroon clown in my city if there was one for sale, but none.. only the white striped maroon clownfish..

my question is... can i get a small, white striped maroon clownfish and try to pair it up with my yellow striped maroon clownfish... i mean they are both maroons... do you think this will work, or has someone ever tried this??

Sorry for your lost. I have one of each and they have paired or tolerated each other for 2 months in a GBTA.

What happened after the 2 months?

clowns

clowns

Here is my fem WSM and male GSM, and I highly rec intro in specimen container as the female may be verry fussy who she mates with, and from my exp band color alone means little.
Even w/ spec cont intro, she killed first 2 small males immediately.
One was WS, other GS.
3rd try I could tell immediately she was going to accept him.

nice pic..!!! awesome..

another question...

another question...

since my boy clown died, the female wont go into the anemone... whats wrong...

and is there a way i can get it to go back cuddling with the anemone???

Hard to say.
Maybe double check params to make sure all is cool/healthy.
If so try a new male in cont where she can see/smell him, watch for submissive twitching from male.
Could take 2-3 days.
You should be able to tell if fem wants to kill it, or accept it.
Expect some light badgering from her, no major bites/fin tearing.
