1am - 230am
My Car was stolen from my drive way.
8am
Cops are at my door. I did not answer it because I just woke up and had to pay restitution for a traffic ticket today and thought some paper work got messed up and I got a warrent issued for my arrest.
830am
I go to my door and read a paper stuck in it.
" Your car was found in Cahokia Illinois "
835am
I call Cahokia and they have my car at the impound lot.
All I got from the conversation was that " I think it is drivable sir.".
930am
I could not find the city clerks office for Oakland. They were not answering their phones. I drove around until I found a postman and asked him. " It's in that curch, they only are there 2 times a month." So I go in and there is a church lady and I asked her what the deal was and she confirmed that the city of Oakland only has court twice a month in the curch basement at 6pm. I asked if there was a way to pay my restitution, she called the Clerk at home and she said I could leave it with her in a labled envelope.
1030am
I get to the Cahokia PD and they give me a ticket to go to the impound yard where my car is and the detective is going through my car for prints.
I go to the yard and in the front office this pile of a woman tells me it will be $175 to get my car. I polietly flipped out.
I said "WOW, that is a great scam you got going on here ! You get young black kids to steal cars and then dump them here and then you get $175 for impounding them." "You guys must be loaded."
She said "Do you want to pay the bills here ? We have alot of bills."
I said "Why ? You get all the auto theft tows and you rape the people to get their cars back, you have no product to sell and offer a crap service, I bet you rake it in hand over fist."
She said Give me your liscence, it's $175. So she took my CC and liscence and made a copy and ran the card. Well she only ran the card for $75!!! She forgot the hit the 1 button. So I lucked out there. The invoice for the tow says $175, but my CC reciept says $75 as does my online statement.
