Also, what size Eheim do you recommend for his tank?
A 1262 would be plenty. Or perhaps the Mag 12, with 1.5" plumbing (since it has 3/4" threads and you are supposed to double them). More below...

Wow Melev on my post, now im feeling good about things. Yeah melev what side would you recommend as far as return and then as far as skimmer pump. Would mag 12 do good on the skimmer at 1200 gph an hour? Also I am thinking a 55 gallon sump or even 40 breeder, which would you do?
I've not run that skimmer, so I would talk to Precision Marine to see what they recommend since it is their product, after all. However, if it happens to be a Mag 12, having two identical pumps (skimmer and return) is a real perk. Let's say the return pump fails for some reason... you can borrow the skimmer pump for now and run your tank skimmerless for a few days while you get the broken pump resolved. If the pumps are different, you'll be scrambling to get it fixed.
For the sump, fit was goes in the stand (behind the stand, in the basement, whatever your plan it). I prefer the biggest sump I can fit. For the flow directions, I'd recommend the Model F layout on my site, which has the skimmer on one end, the refugium at the opposite end, and the return in the center. A longer sump is always best with that configuration.
