Awesome tank, what kind of lighting do you have?

Joelrod72- I'm running two aquaconnects 14k 250watt SE on electronic ballasts for 6 hours a day with actinic on for 12 hours.

I took some pics of some of my frags in the frag tank that are my favorite so far and thought some of you might want to see them.....

Setosa...

Billy thank you, when they are ready I will let you know. I have been collecting some LE stuff for awhile now, it takes a long time for them to get big and color up and can't wait. I just posted the ones here that look pretty good now. I got high hopes for some of the other ones though.

Im in no rush. I placed the order yesterday so it will be a little while before its up and running and ready for coral. But you will definitely be on the list for a visit when im ready.

Anybody else having problems seeing the pics?

I'm not real happy with my Lamotte alk test, just today I started a new refill so I compared the old to the new and they were off by 3.9 to 3.2 meq. : (

You sure you didn't have some residue in the beaker when you tested the second batch? Don't tell me Lamotte is having problems too!!

Hey Chris, are the pics showing up for you now? I did another alk test today and it seemed to test about right but still got to check it out some more, I got another brand of test I'm going to compare them.

Here are some pics I took the other day of the caps, there is one that is showing some very interesting results but not sure yet....

This last pic you can see a green polyp surrounded by the peach cap and then if you look further to the right it seems to me that there is a peach and green look to the growth. I'm really not 100% sure yet only time will tell

and this is another one I glued up the other day....

Pretty soon we are going to be by frags of the LE Emster Cap. The 1 with the green polyp in the peach looks pretty cool.

interesting cap experiment. I actually had a M confusa and A tenius combine and one side of the tenius became much greener and the branches became knarled and grew more randomly.. you definitely have some peachy greeness happening

Hey Emmit,

Well I hope the Lamotte thing was a fluke. That would really be a bummer if they had problems too. I got a hach kit a while back. I will have to compair my lamotte kit to it and see if there is any diff. Seems I did it several months ago and they both read the same.

Man you got some nice lookin stuff there buddy. I might have to come down to your place and pic up that blue tip stag and maybe snag a couple others :) I'll give you a call to see if your up for it.

Thanks,
Chris

Emmett the Setosa is looking great! Everything always seems to grow so quick & have great colors in your tanks! Nice to see a $90+ per 1/2" to 3/4" coral growing so rapidly and lookinjg so good.

Emmett,
Can u post ur camera and any post processing settings u used and what software? My wife has the same camera and want to give it a try. I know u said u used the aquarium setting, is that all u did for the camera?

I have this coral but I can't remember what it's called. I got it over a year ago. When it was at the LFS it was super fuzzy and a brilliant neon with long polyps like a milli.

Shortly after placing it in my tank I had some mystery parameter issues that took a little while to straigten out. When everything started to perk up again the coral took on a different appearance with the shorter polyps and brilliant neon tips under 10k ushios and actinics.

I will try to get the origin of that coral again but I believe it was a hybrid from some place in central Florida. I'll get back to you on it. It has been a very slow grower. I currently have it about 20" down in a 30" deep tank with the MH's about 10" above the water.

Ben I use the underwater setting but it really depends on the color of your lights. I put the top dial to SCN then go to underwater and then turn off flash and put it in macro mod for most pics, for full tank or half tank shots I don't use macro. Sometimes I adjust the exposure compensation if it looks too white or too dark on the screen. I have never used any software or photo processing on any of my pics. I don't know how, I'm just now learning how to do smilies;)

Roger now that you mention it does look like a tenuis
