Thread for FULL GROWN fish...agressive welcome (no small shrimps allowed!)

This was my MONSTROUS blue tang (13 inches) Had to sell him due to VERY, VERY aggressive nature and killing of other fish (he wanted to be the ONLY one in the tank)....

That blue tang really got aggressive. What kind of fish was it kept with? Mine can handle his own but certainly not aggressive. Of course he's only 4" right now.

Thats NOT full grown, my bluetang killed my 9, almost 10 inch foxface....

Guys, only post FULL grown fish, not just big ones......

He will get aggressive.....i've spoken with some people on here that have the same problems on here with BIG regals. Once they hit the 9+ range they just get mean for some reason. My regal killed my 9 inch foxface, sliced him ALL the way down the length of his body, almost ripped him wide open, found him dead, upsidown stuck against the overflow. He always chased the foxface all the time.....

Do you have the blue tang in a larger tank than a 135 gallon? I am wondering if a 14" fish in a 135 might get very aggressive due to stress and lack of space.

A fish doesn't have to be big to be full grown.... but what are you considering full grown? Is it adult, or maximum size?

He is about 8 inches long. Not even close to full grown yet as I can see. One of my friends at a LFS out of town has one that is over double his size.

He's still got a few more inches before he's full grown. About 18" is full grown (measuring to the base of the tail, so the streamers don't count).

I had a yellow clown goby and a greenstripe goby that were both full-grown. I'll see if I can find pictures of them.

keeping a 13" tang in a 135 gal is way too small for a fish that big of that species inmy opinion. You ,may have very well been part of the reason for your tang became a stressed out killer. I'm not saying they don't become aggressive, but that tank is way too small. However, if that is one of your last pics, and assuming that is a 135g, which would be 18" wide, that fish is no where near 13". Sorry, but it's just something that is noticable. Beautiful fish just the same, but one that should have been in a bigger tank and your fish might still be alive, if in fact it is/was 13" at least.

Ok then explain full grown, you will find a lot of trouble in this thread if that is your case. Nobody knows when their fish is done growing. I know people who have had a emperor angel for 10 years and never left his juv colors or size. So that isn't considered full grown? My foxface has quite a history to him ( 7-12 years) and he isn;t "monstrous" but full grown plus that picture is old he is around 8 inches now. Plus your also saying I can post a 3 inch ocellaris and be fine. Think about what you make threads of.


ALL PEOPLE POSTING IN YOUR THREAD MAKE SURE YOUR FISH IS AT OR ABOVE MAXIMUM SIZE OR IT IS NOT CONSIDERED FULL GROWN THANK YOU.

I think he's full grown, prolly about 3" from tip-to-tip and they say 2.5" is about full grown for these guys.
