~~ Thread of the Month ~~ Ghetto Tanks!

You betcha. :)

A lot of my stuff is still frags yet (a little over a month old at that), but I'm getting amazing amounts of growth... I do however have about 6 colonies that could use a trim here in a month or so. :)

Nice to know that there's other sources of SPS up here in no-man's land. :D

Hope you have a nice vacation... we went to the coast last weekend and are working on doing it again the second week in August.

NICe.. I'd love to trade some frags in about a month i should have a few things ready to frag up... SPS is King=)
I've removed almost all my softies from the tank the rest will be removed next week...

Doesn't look dreadful installed, but I figure if everything but the front and back walls was made from pieces of wood I kept tripping over in the garage (I'm not exaggerating, that place was a nightmare), it's pretty ghetto.

I'm interested in those lights possibly for a fuge or prop tank maybe???Hmmmm.. Where did you get them what kelvin are they? How much $$$?

my ghetto canopy for my 180.
my buddy happened to be movin about the same time i was needing to build a canopy for my 180.
to make a long story short, he had an old countertop (top of the canopy) and an old bed frame (sides) that were just the length i was looking for...enjoy!

the most ghetto thing about it is that terrible fish drawing/sticker on the front.

Cost me $10CDN at Home Depot, and every store I've been to (Ok, 3) have carried them.
Fairly low Kelvin, though they don't advertise it and Philips' website doesn't have anything useful on them.
Go to the lighting area at HD and look UP at the displays... You'll know right away if you see it, because beside the other yellow bulbs it looks almost like a blue Christmas light.
Algae has started picking up already, and I haven't even put a ghetto reflector on yet. :D

silicone and duct tape holding my aquaclear 500 together!...also duct tape wrapped around my fluval 304, a old hood on my 55G from like 1980 or something...lol

why dont they add this type of award to the home page of RC, like the REAL tank of the month, that would spice things up a bit
