I think its a great setup, and failsafe systems are always the best (to whatever degree we can make them truly failsafe since Murphy always has something to say about it in the end.) I've seen your thread in the past and think it's helped out many people, so it got my vote for sure.

My tank only has 2 holes, so I guess that makes it silent and not quite failsafe But the vent tube that converts the 2nd hole to siphon gives me great peace of mind.
Seriously, gets my vote too.
