Same here.... a 10 to 15 min soak once a week......when I soak it the ORP goes way up to like 550 or so...then I rinse it off it tap water and put it back in the sump.....with in 10 min it getting the right reading

Electricity is not one of my strong points but I use a ground wire in my tank. I think I got it from Marinedepot.com. I can't remember all the details something about minor amounts of stray voltage from all the power equipment. It's supposed to disturb the fish. I also have everything running through a GFCI.
I keep my ORP probe in the display because its easier for me. I've read good arguments for measuring in the sump as well as the tank. I don't think it matters too much.

Well my orp is down to 330 which seems more accurate. Does it take awhile to recalibrate once you vinegar clean it? I'll report back later and see. I don't see how RODI water is going to make it report 0.

I guess I'll do weekly cleanings. It doesn't seem to hurt imo.

Thanks for confirming that clkwrk. I am holding off on buying the ozone till I make sure this controller does the right thing.

It does take up to an hr for it to settle in after cleaning .

he suggests i put a 5g bucket in my sump fed by 1 of my tank overflows....have the ozone blowing into the bottom of the bucket....... with some carbon a little higher in the bucket.....

Are you planing on using an airstone at the bottom of the bucket? and what pump are you going to power the ozone by?

thanks

Well,

It's time to report in to my ozone fans; I'm proud to say that my ozone has gotten to 408 mv with ozone.

My controller shuts it off about 390 and then it cruises to the 400+ range and stays there all night and into the morning.

My tank is becomming more stable with each passing day and my critters and corals are happy.

Just can't believe how clear the tank looks, you guys and gals need to get those ozone units up and running.

In an attempt to farm more macros, I got rid of my large filter socks and placed in two streamline versions and added an additional 18 watts coralife 6700K.

Small update...

About 12:43 am my ORP is at 412 mv. If I feed phyto or flakes it drops immediately about 10 to 20 mv.

Fred_J if u want to do a test just take a cup of water from ur sump & put ur probe in it & see if the ORP changes this way u will know if u have Electricity current in ur tank, i did this & my ORP dint move from where it was.
JME.

There is only a few out there.
Enaly is the cheapest that peopl have used.
Red Sea is the next
Sanders is the last.

Unfortunately, you somewhat get what you pay for.

Ozone users,

Watching my tank last night creep up to 412 mv, I stayed around for just a bit longer before going to bed. I saw it reach 424 mv then I called it a night.

This morning I wake up wondering where my I might be at? I open the cabinet door and see my ORP at 425 mv.

I was pleased to see it hadn't raised any higher than this, as I'm new to the ozone deal and don't know if I'm at a good target zone or not.

I then proceeded to feed my fish flakes and pellets; my ORP dropped to 414 mv.

Here are the pics:

This one is just before I went to bed last night

what about ozonizers that arent directed solely at the aquarium industry? Does anyone have any experience with these?

Cubman, Enaly is not made for aquariums but the price makes it very attractive to buy.

Mike, I am new to ozone to but I think mid 400s is good. I just got a new Aquamedic 200 MG gen along with a new probe for my ac2. I am set to turn off at 420 and my current water at this time after 15 minutes of ozone is 229! . But...My old probe read 465!! I guess it was way overdue.

Keith

Mine has creeped up to 329. I put it in a cup of tank water outside the tank and it dropped by 10.

What does that tell me?
