Your orp in your tank should be higher. Just because you set your ORP is set to 150, it's not going to stop at 150. Your ORP in your tank should be a minimum of 300 without ozone. Mine always sets to 330 without.

I've noticed if I take my ozone off for 24 hrs, my orp will drop from 400 to 330 like I never added it. It then takes 24 hrs to get it back up. So I'm inclined to think that the ORP can drop or rise fast and shouldn't cause any issues at all.
 
Jay, I dont think I was clear on what I meant.

Its not the orp going up thats strange. Its that I have it set to 150 (its a new unit, and still rising,no ozone unit connected yet), and the alarm (flashing red light, outlet on) didnt turn off till the display had hit almost 200. Now this may be just a side effect of the dial being very small, adn there being some +/- range so that the unit isnt constantly turning on and off, but it just seemed strange how high it went before it shut the outlet off when it was set to 150. It may also be a side effect of the fact that 150 is not a normal range, so the nob may not be that acurate around there.

Maybe my dial isnt on right or something.
 
Mine seems accurate in the high end. Haven't tested it on the low end.

I guess I'll just start cleaning the probe every 3 days and be done with it. The water is clearer but my wife swears she can't tell the difference. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the hassle.
 
I feel the same way about being worth the hassle. I can't really tell a difference but things don't happen over night with a tank so maybe it will take some time to notice an improvement.
 
When I first installed my ozone it looks good then next, very good in a few days and great in one week. Even the wife said it looks like no water in there! :)

Every 3 days of cleaning is nuts. I know my pinpint probe can go up to 10 days if I have too.
 
ORP was 295 when I got home last night. 322 this morning. The new meter has been in for somewhere around 2 1/2 days. I thought it was supposed to take longer (around 5 or so) than this to get up there?

All told, I've spent
$100 Milwaukee SMS 510
$52 Sander Certizon C50 (ebay :)) missing ac adapter
$15 AC adapter
$2 ozone safe tubing
$.39 Ts.

just need the air dryer now. up to $169, and just need the air dryer.

My skimmate is now white....

not sure what that means. Tank is definitely clearer as viewed from the top, no yellow whatsoever.

Anyone had white skimmate? I mean, its not clear, almost looks like thick milk.

This is a dumb question, but how do you guys recharge your air dryers? I know that you are supposed to heat them, but the instructions that accompanied mine tell me to heat them at 230deg. on a heat resistant tray. What can I use that is heat resistant? Does that really not matter?
It is a Red Sea air dryer with the standard silica beads.

My ORP reads 404 mv at the end of the night every night. Then in the morning is can drop to 360 mv and then it begins it's whole process over again.

I haven't cleaned it once since I purchased it and it's working like a champ.

I think I just got a good one, plus I didn't mess with hookin it up at all for 5 days straight, just like Milwaukee asked.

It has long stablized below the first couple weeks where it did read up to 425 mv.

Since the last month, it will only go as high as 404...

If if does deviate above the norm, since I have a benchmark, I know it's time to clean it....

Use a regular cookie tray that goes in the oven.
 
Mine still has to be done every 3 days. My beads get exhausted quick. How long are you guys cooking your beads? It seems they will be blue and go back to pinkish so I put them back in.

If I don't recharge my beads, my orp will not go over 350 running 24/7 at full capacity with the luft pump as high as it will go without popping the cap.

Heat resistant doesn't mean it doesn't get hot, just that it can stand being heated.

I put mine in a baking dish lined with aluminum foil cook at 300 for 1 hour and when its done remove the beads on the foil, they cool much faster.
