Thank for the picture,

I can't see much differences on this picture maybe if you can take a closer picture may help.

I found a couple of old shots as my TDF was growing and one close up taken when the shot Ed posted was taken. The TDF is super slow grower for the first few years, it lays down a large base before ever growing up. Once it starts shooting branches it tables out and fuses, at least in my tank, and grows quicker. I believe I have had my piece for more than four years. My TDF and the Red Planet are completely different...I just don't know how to prove it, hehehehe, my Red Planet perished and I have never really wanted to get another one.

In these pictures the original frag is dead center of the the top down shot and the right 2:00 oclock position in the bottom close up. The original frag branch has never grown or changed, everything has sprouted around it and grown out from it. Kind of interesting.

There we go, beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

IME, the tdf is much more pastel and a slower grower. I have both about the same size as discussed going well and hope to post grown up pics in the future. Placement plays a big part too, at least with the rp. I moved my rp mid way and am getting both greens and reds now as before at the top of my rock it was showing more reds.

I was thinking that in 9 months it went from the top two photos to that one Ed posted, pretty good growth once it got going!!!

BTW, Thanks for all the kind words regarding my colony :). I bet there are other gorgeous colonies out there, people just aren't taking pics of them or they aren't posting. I have shared a number of frags, so I know there are folks out there with this TDF.

For what its worth, my Red Planet turned purple in my tank...weird huh?? I had it really low though, so maybe that is why.

Tweaked, looking forward to seeing your pictures in the future.

That's how RP grew in my largest colony. Nice big base will full color and then it branched towards the light with just pinkish branches, no green. I cut a frag and moved it to lower light in another grow out tank and the green came back to the branches.
