tigerpyge angel. pics! =]

ok thanks! she ate the small pieces of rods food again today. i am going to mix the small thera A pellets in with it so hopefully she'll start to eat those too. i might treat with prazipro in a few days just to be safe.

yes but isn't prazipro cosidered "reef safe"?

This is just me, but I will never use any "reef safe" med in a DT, I don't trust them, and don't feel it is worth the risk.

i don't have that many corals so i wouldn't be that worried. if anything i can run a lot of carbon and do a big WC. i rather risk the corals then the fish.

Don't you have an anemone in there? (( thought I saw it in one of the pictures )). If that goes could have a ammonia spike.

IMO, if you are going to treat with any meds, better to set up a QT tank, as opposed to risking any corals/inverts dying and messing up your parameters. This isn't a fish to take risks with.

there is no way to get it out of the DT without taking all the rock out. maybe i'll wait until i transfer all the corals and inverts to the 180g and then i'll keep the fish in the 34g another week so i can treat with prazipro. and maybe cupramine. is this a good idea? i don't want to stress the fish.

If you are going to use cuprmaine I would not use it in the DT, even with all the corals and inverts pulled. Really need to set up a QT, or if you have to use the 34, don't transfer anything in that tank (( excluding the fish )) into another tank.

I've used prazipro in my DT quite a few times without any losses. I only have mushrooms on some very well cured LR. I didn't lose my cleaner shrimp, linkia, conch, snails, or hermits. I even found some bristle's on the sump after treatment.

With angels, Prazi will cause a loss of appetite. It is not advised to treat with that Ned till the fish is eating very well.

It depends on the parasite...Prazipro can't kill everything unfortunately.

Have you EVER had an outbreak of ANYTHING disease/parasite related in that tank?

my latz got sick about a month ago and they got moved into quarantine. i'm not exactly sure what they had. i think it was ick. covered in white spots. thats why i am going to treat with cupramine AND prazipro. just to be safe. i guess i can move the angel into QT but i don't want to put her in with the latz because they still look like they have it and i don't want to expose her to them. i'll see what happens over the next few weeks.

IMHO - if the latz still have it after a month they are not being treated properly. If it is ich and the proper level of copper is administered or the proper level of hyposalinity is reached, the parasite should be irradicated in the matter of a week or 2.

What are you treating the latz with? Pictures tell a 1000 words.

i was treating them with formalin. that was helping and the spots went away but then they came back after i stopped dosing every 2 days. then i just started using cuprmine 2 days ago. and then i gave the female a FW dip yesterday. she turned really pale but it looks like some of the spots are off her face. the prazipro i ordered comes in tomorrow and i am going to treat with that.

Prazi will not help ich. Only copper, quinine sulfate, and hyposalinity can cure ich.

Formaline is good for bacterial infections, pop eye, and other minor issues.

You need to continue with the proper consentration of copper for 14 days.

X2

Prazipro works great on flukes & internal parasites only.

Mixing medication is worse than the ich IMO :( Stability is key in this hobby.

You might do some research, then do some more research, decide on a plan, stick with it, and let the chips fall where they may.
